Time to clear some things up.
First, it seems pretty clear to me that I've been running my mouth off too much. I've scared some people, and that's not good. Just because I'm hyped and pretty competitive with other people in these events (in a good way) does not mean that others are expected to have the same mentality. After all, some people think I'm crazy. At least I don't bite. (Not hard, anyway.) Let's put all of that aside for a moment and focus on what is important.
- SimGives is Tragikos' event, not Khalaq's. (Sorry for my ravings, Trag.)
- The idea of SimGives is to have fun and give away games. (Sound familiar?)
- The people of SimGives are generous and accepting. (You will be welcome.)
So, while the SimGives experience can be intense, there is no reason to fear it. I hope that clarifies the matter.

You did overdo a bit, still it's good overall to show first timers what they can expect. There will be race to reserve some titles - especialy important fact for those with somewhat limited budget that want do good nonetheless. And peer pressure (even if unspoken) to up ones game a bit. Missing opportunity is imo better than if stress took out most of the fun from the event.

Good you mention that lower levels are invited for the ride too :). I do understand well, that group looks for ppl with certain personality traits and that those traits lead to having high levels but it might not be so clear for ppl that are not very active around forum. If I thought it's only about wallet depth, I wouldn't recommend Rachel to apply for the group :).

Alright this does sound interesting! I was planning to create a bunch of giveways during the holiday season to at least hit lvl 8 anyway so this group could be a nice way of doing some of those :-) Already 9 pages of applications though, so we'll see if it works out :-)

Update 9th February
Our new record is now set to 1711 unique giveaways and over 1840 gifts sent. We didn't even need to have a consolation round since everyone had decent wins. This was probably our best event so far!

We broke our previous record of 1k giveaways and now have 1028 unique giveaway reservations and 4 weeks to go untill the end of the event!

Group Introduction
First of all you should know that this is not a new group, it was first created during Chrismas 2012 and since then we've had six successful events:

So it is obvious by the repetition pattern, that we operate close and during big Steam Sales. The goal of this group is to gather a certain amount of members that will create unique quality giveaways and share them with the rest. The tricky part is that ALL of those giveaways will end at exactly the same time, regardless of the time zone.
For that to work there are some rules to follow:

Few last words
Our last event had 60 members and 1017 unique giveaways (average of 17 giveaways per member, which means also an average of 17 wins per member). Everyone won something, but still the unluckiest seven got 1 extra game from their wishlist as "compensation" on behalf of many of our members who donated the amount needed. Everything went smoothly and I will do my best for things to go well again.
