I really like your idea!! As for choosing the people for the group, I'd suggest you make a puzzle and the first people to solve it will get an invite. I'm not sure if I could get into the group that way myself (I'm not very good at puzzles), but it's just a suggestion. Its up to you to decide how to choose the people, but I really like this awesome idea. :D

As for picking people... Can't really come up with anything that isn't arbitrary. :(

Just invite people you like. If someone has a name or avatar that makes you smile, leaves a comment that makes you laugh or brightens your mood, or just has similar tastes and you'd like to play a game with them sometime, snag 'em. You're turning this into a social activity, after all - you should socialize with people you appreciate having around.

thank you all for your input and i'll put a end date for the ideas so i have enough time to work out a plan :) Lets use 31 october as the end date :) best idea by then will have won entry into the group :) That way even people who don't have the ability to visit sg everyday will have a chance to share their idea :) Good luck all and thanks for all the early Bday wishes :D

In my opinion this is a great idea,a group where the people will win something and could be greatful for it,this is really a briliant idea,i'm not sure how you pick your group members but I hope I will be one of those,if not,still a big thanks!

First: the idea for such a groups is great ;)
And I really liked "Razuto22"'s idea.

Another possible solution would also be:

1. Everyone could propose two games (at least one indie game and the second one can be a new AAA game, an older game or another indie game they already have played and loved.
   2. Then they have to say what they loved about the games and why you should take these for the group-giveaways.
   3. The 25 people with the games and their reasons given to you, that you liked the most will be invited into the group and
   4. you use these 25 games(one game from each invited person) as giveaways for your group) and still have 6games left completly for yourself to decide. ;)

Hopefully I didn't describe it too complicated.

Probably select a few that will actually play together, would be awesome being in a group with co-op games being given away like Trine 2, Awesomenatus, Castle Crashers, and they aren't really that expensive :)

will be nice to pick people that has a birthday in december... so they get a game as a gift...

If u wish to choose people randomly you can copy the nicknames and put them in the list:

name1

name2

name3

random order, yea It will take some time :/

Then you just put that list into this http://www.random.org/lists/ website randomly sorts the names, and u can get random set of people, from 1 to 25 or something :)

The way to select the 25 people should be done fairly, but the question is how. Perhaps something like a good old fashioned game of internet hide and seek :) hide a specific phrase somewhere here on steam gifts, and those who take a screenie of it and post it to you should get it :) or at least something similar

My idea:

Have a fortix giveaway (cheap), make a puzzle or some kind of game to hide it. First 25 people who enters the giveaway will get a spot. To mix it up a bit have them say a phrase or a word in the comments box, hide the phrase/word somewhere else as well. Failure to input the phrase/word will not guarantee them a place.

just find random number generator, and the number you get, find commenter of comment of that number, and invite him : )
like now there are 159 comments, you get generated idk, number 46, so you invite that one with 46. comment!

Make the choice by looking at what type of games these people have played and what they would like to play. Anyways, I know it's not the brightest idea, but I just wanted to share it with ya. Good luck on making the group!
