Hillary or Trump?
I was suggesting that non-US people have shitty opinions and should stay out of this.
yeah no, that's not how that works, y'know.

How do you go from Sanders to Trump? They are literal opposites on every issue from governmental oversight, to climate change, to gay rights, to abortion, to immigration, to tax reform. Just... how.

Sorry couldn't vote for the poll.
For a more accurate poll you needed to include the options for Bernie Sanders, Staying home, Jill Stein, & Gary Johnson.
At this point, I am debating on voting for Jill Stein or writing Bernie Sanders name in. But not staying home, I am hoping that enough of us do it that we poach electoral votes from Clinton and Trump to the point they both lose which would be a miracle or at the very least take it to a convention as neither of them got enough votes which sends a massive signal flare up to both the parties and other like minded individuals who are trying to run for those offices.
I am also wanting to see real investigations into the election fraud reported all over the nation in the democratic primaries. And I want the investigation done by an independent 3rd party as we know those running it otherwise could turn up dead bodies in their basements and would still report back nothing was found.

Won't comment on the tinfoil haberdashery, just on your third paragraph: if neither Clinton nor Trump gets enough electoral votes, then the House gets to pick the next President, and the House is currently Republican-dominated. You figure it out.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not tinfoil haberdashery. It is legit and I know the odds, but I also know the odds if people don't try. And as to your comment on the house picking the president, I even said that outcome in it and I guess I will repeat it to you.
Even if it just comes to the house choosing from the lost electoral votes, it still comes down to Trump or Clinton which both means we lose. That would still be a short term loss, long term potential gain.
If the election came down to a convention due to that, it would send a HUGE signal flare to both the parties as well as the public. You would see the parties scrambling to adjust to the changing demographics or risk another party raising to replace them and you would have the public start seeing 3rd options as more viable and becoming more willing to vote for them in future elections and you would also see more like minded people starting to run for office as well.
It would motivate change for the party for the sake of their own survival and embolden the public. None of which happens if everyone just repeatedly throw their vote away on a candidate they don't even want just to keep the other guy out. That is how we got here with two completely crap choices where literally the only reason they even stand a chance is the person they are running against is just as bad.
So, we have the choice of the short term loss with a long term loss as well versus a big short term loss for the sake of a long term gain.

Have you seen Clinton's platform? It's the most progressive Democratic platform a candidate has ever had, incorporating a lot of Sanders's ideas. But let me guess: you don't "trust" her to implement it. At the same time, you're considering voting for Jill Stein, a person who has never held public office and only shows up every four years for her allotted publicity. Feelz > realz.
Comment has been collapsed.
I have seen her platform and I have also seen how she made sure to take on a VP supporting the exact opposite and appoint a platform committee making sure to exclude important parts of it from their official platform. Her actions lead me to distrust her words.
Sorry but I am not throwing my vote away to help your feelz. I would rather stay home which then would result in even less happening as the system does allow for protest votes, but staying at home does not effect the results in any way.
But you keep telling yourself whatever you want if that makes you feel better.

After a cursory check, the only thing I could find in defense of your point is her committee's (and not Kaine's) continuing support of TPP. I wonder why this should be a dealbreaker, when Clinton's platform remains the most progressive we've ever seen, and when she herself remains opposed to TPP. The greatest proponent of TPP -- President Obama himself -- hardly seems to get any flak for it.
Clinton is pragmatic. What of it? A lot of former Sanders supporters seem to think of pragmatism as defeatist, untrendy and immoral, when in fact it's paramount for working across the aisle.
If you want to stay home, I can't stop you, but I would urge you to at least vote down-ballot.
Comment has been collapsed.
Her VP pick is for bank deregulation and for the TPP and spoke in favor of it as early as the week before he picked him. Her history on the TPP in combination of her pick and committee tell me she is lying to us on her current stance on it especially given her history on it. The TPP is a deal breaker for any candidate given what it has in it.
Her rhetoric about dealing with the banks she got directly from Sanders as he was killing her with it. But given how much money she has received from them, I doubt she will follow through. They are among her top donors.
Her stance about money in politics I also distrust given how she has been in it for as long as I can remember.
Clinton claims to be pragmatic which is highly debatable but her claimed pragmatism is not why I am not voting for her, it is her stances as judged by her actions that turn me off.
I never said I was staying home, I am going to vote. I am just not throwing my vote away on a candidate I don't want. I do plan to vote down ballot though out of necessity. I am a resident of North Carolina and we have among the most gerrymandered states in the nation and we have to get the republicans out of the supreme court here as they have already proven they will sell out the law and the will of the people for party politics when it comes to the districts. Our current districts disenfranchise literally over half the state where people can lose the vote but still win due to district drawing. I originally wasn't going to vote for the judges as I lacked the knowledge for an informed vote, but the districts of this state trump that and we have to get the republicans out of the state supreme court if we hope to have even a modicum of the will of the people reflected in this state.

Kaine's endorsement of TPP before his VP appointment was cagey and measured ("I see much in it to like" ... "Thereโs one piece that Iโm still really digging into" ... "If those assurances are not met, then I will vote against the treaty when it eventually hits the table" ... "I'm not going to vote for TPP when there is no program to retrain workers who are affected by trade"). And after his appointment he said the following: "I was a strong supporter a year ago of giving President Obama the ability to negotiate a trade deal. But I said at the time, when that deal was done and on the table, I was going to look at it very carefully. And I even expressed a very serious concern I had with how it was developed, which is that companies were given rights to enforce provisions, but the labor and environmental provisions could not be effectively enforced. That was never fixed. I've asked again and again to understand this piece of the TPP. And I've never gotten a good answer. We can't have a deal that cannot be enforced. And so, for that reason, yeah, I'm going to oppose it in the lame duck if it comes up after Election Day."
Even if we ignore all the facts and even if we assume he's in favor of the TPP and even if we extrapolate that Clinton is in favor of it, too... it still shouldn't be a dealbreaker unless you're a single-issue voter.
As for money in politics, Clinton has designated "willingness to repeal Citizen's United" as her Litmus test for Supreme Court Justices, which is more than any other candidate has done. And her voting approach has not been fierce, but neither has it been lax. Pace Mother Jones: "Clinton has consistently supported increasing the minimum wage -- though not to $15. She supported the Lilly Ledbetter Act. She supports higher taxes on the wealthy. She supported repeal of the carried interest loophole in 2007. The Boston Globe, after an extensive review of her voting record in the Senate, summed up her attitude with this quote from a lobbyist: 'The financial sector viewed her as neutral. Not helpful, but also not harmful.' Citizens for Tax Justice gives her a generally favorable grade on financial issues."
Anyway, glad to hear you're voting.

I am not a single issue voter, but the TPP has one glaring provision in it that makes it of massive importance that it not get passed. The provision that allows companies to sue countries not in courts but in tribunals with unelected judges. That single sticking point wipes out any and all good the TPP could ever hope to do which is already looked at and saw to be little to nothing.
Even without being a single issue voter, that is still a disqualifer for any candidate.
Sorry, having to cut this short. Just hit a lawyer over the VA and was told that the next step in the appeal would take 4 to 5 YEARS for a verdict. So not in the best of moods and got a headache where I am feeling my pulse in my eyeball right now. 4 to 5 years of wasted time because they wanted to ignore the medical records and opinions of the doctors I have been seeing for years in favor of a guy who wasn't even a doctor and never even set foot in the same state as me and only saw me once for 30 minutes over a video conversation.... So annoyed right now and trying to figure out how to survive that long off $836 per month when I can't work without going homeless or having to scrub off my family the whole time to survive.
The VA definitely does work hard and try everything they can to make sure they earn their reputation for being terrible.
Going to lay down for a bit.

Tell me about it, been stuck living off $836 a month for about 2 years now and been stuck relying on the family some even like this with my money slowly draining, not sure how another 4+ years will go. Especially since I won't be able to go to stuff like the dentist or doctors beyond what is service connected.
On the bright side, that would be 1 hell of a back pay going back roughly 7 to 9 years depending on how they calculate it. But still doesn't do me much good now.

I'm currently dealing with a situation with Disability. With my condition there is no hope for improvement but I have student loans and now they want to garnish my Disability to pay off that. They will be taking nearly $200 a month which will leave me with about $100 less than what you currently get. There are ways to get out of it and I am currently jumping through their hoops to get the loan squashed. It's a hard fight though when you need doctor statements and in order to see a doctor you must make an appointment and pay money out of pocket because Medicare won't cover an appointment for something like this. Social Security has a form that you can get that if it states that the date of your next medical eval is 5+ years they will immediately squash the student loan. They are so far behind though they keep changing the date of my next eval and making it only 3 years away even though I have been on Disability for 9 years now. The date has been advanced 4 times since I first applied for the program almost 5 years ago. The only eval I had was a questionnaire they sent in the mail that asked me more or less if my health has improved, stayed the same, or worsened since this time 2 years ago. Mine has worsened considerably and I supplied medical history to prove it. Still waiting for a response. Very frustrating.

Honestly, I think its about time we got some nations around the world afraid of America again instead laughing at us for the Obama apology tour.

People in Europe have the greatest respect for Obama and his "apology tour." I think respect is preferable to fear when it comes to international relations.

Well Europe can take that apology tour and shove it right up their own asses - I don't have anything to apologize for nor does my nation. If anything we should be going on a 'you can give thanks to us' tour for providing free military protection and services to italy, germany, saudia arabia, kuwait, japan, korea, etc, etc, etc all free of charge paid for by US Tax payers. I'm sorry? More like - You're welcome!

If you do some research, you'll see that relief efforts in Haiti failed en masse, and that this had little to do with the reputation of the donating charities, like the Clinton Foundation and the Red Cross. The Clinton Foundation remains A-rated on Charity Watch and 94.74/100 on Charity Navigator.

That's a good article, and one that I've read before. However, there is no smoking gun, and as I said to a commenter above, the conflict of interest is a moot point. Bill Clinton has stated the foundation will stop accepting foreign or corporate donations should Hillary Clinton be elected president, and he himself will step down from its board.
Sorry about the blacklisting; American politics has me rather agitated, and I blacklisted a few people as a knee-jerk reaction. Gave me a brief dopamine rush, but I'll take you off now. :)
