Sorry if i keep making trouble but... i just really lost this time.
Err, yea, my account just got hijacked, and i lost all of my trading cards, gift. all of them. Is there any way to get them back ?

and, seems like it's related, but... i got a message from my friend, quite a long time ago. the link is quite random, but i guess the file is something.scr..
And the problem is, i doubt he would hijack my account, i opened it and nothing happens.. When i ask him about that link, he don't even know anything about that.

So errr, would steam support help me this time ? @_@

.scr is a screensaver file, there was a virus going around on steam that had a screensaver file with a virus.

Steam support probably won't do anything, but I suggest you report it to see if there are any logs they can check.

Also run a virus scan.

.scr can also be a script file

well if a friend links you something thats supposed to be an awesome screenshot, you tend to want to check it out.. now if asks if you want to run something the answer should be no

agreed, make a technology literacy course(not just computers)

.. I work in a warranty center, and some of the RMA reasons are painful to read

the following are actual reasons people sent their tablet into the RMA center(word for word, spelling corrected in some cases):
.. unable to make a gmail account.. please replace my tablet
.. sound stops playing through speakers when I plug in headphones
.. I ejected my SD card and cannot find it
.. my wifi speed is so much slower than when I am using 4G, I have the standard connection through TWC/AT&T/Verizon(which ranges from 15Mb-25Mb.. 4G is much faster)
... on a related note theres those who don't understand the difference of MB and Mb.. and we get returns for those
.. not turning on, I pick it up, hold power button for 4 seconds and it turns on with full charge
.. not accepting my password I just made, it shouldn't do this, replace my tablet(they provided the password in all lower case, tried it with first letter uppercase, and it worked.. other cases all caps)
.. there are hackers in my tablet, please help me provide information to give to the FBI(this was a instant wait for CSR action case.. turns out it was just ghost touch) .. ill forgive this one slightly due to there actually being a major functional problem(I consider power, touch and wifi/3G/4G major)

the liars are my favorite though.. still leading in with my favorite being a shattered LCD and them claiming it just happened in their hands(completely shattered.. not just 1-2 cracks)

off topic of the thread ftw

Windows Screensavers. The ones that appear after desktop inactivity.

thats what people who don't think it through will be thinking, not everyone is tech smart

they see .scr and think screenshot, not screensaver(who uses screensavers anymore.. everyone I know just lets their PC go to sleep/turn off the display) or a script file

report to steam support and format your pc immediately..sometimes antivirus software unable to detect the malware/virus. It happened to me before. Steam support will only help you ONCE.

So, here is the deal. Your friend's account got hijacked before yours. The hijacked account sends that link with a strange message to all his contacts (including you, of course). Some people might click it, some might not. You clicked it, downloaded the file, and your own steam account got hijacked too. Now, your account might be sending those links as well. My advice is NEVER CLICK one of those links, RUN A VIRUS SCAN on your pc, and CHANGE ALL YOUR IMPORTANT PASSWORDS (not just the steam one, your email's too).

Ís it enough to just click on it or do you actually have to download and run the whole thing to make it work? I had one of those once, clicked the link and decided, when I noticed it was an scr file, to better not do anything with it and canceled the action. Deleted the profile post afterwards.

Was a while ago and nothing happened since.

Something like that, yes. But, there were reports of such links where the file is downloaded and executed automatically... Curiosity killed the cat, they say.
