Mass Effect Trilogy and The Walking Dead. Brilliant story on both sides, as well as a brilliant soundtracks to make them even greater.

Honestly, I don't play many story driven games. Probably the best storyline I've come across is Bastion, although that may just be a result the wonderful voice acting.

Kara no Shoujo, VLR, 999

Planescape Torment; Fallout 1; Metal Gear Solid 3 (fuck i still remember my face when i got to the ending); Vampire Bloodlines; Vampire Redemption; The Path (the story is a bit diffuse, but that's the point, isn't it?); Monkey Island series (the first 3); The Dig; Beneath a Steel Sky; Deus Ex; Main plot of Assassins Creed (i was blown away by the concept); Silent Hill (again, the concept, not just a specific game), and many others.

Final Fantasy 7. There will never be another game like it. Of course, Mass Effect and Dragon Age needs to be up there as well. Loved Knights of the Old Republic as well!!

Hard to say. Between Bioshock, Mass Effect, Spec Ops: The Line and Sam & Max (the entire episodic series + Hit the Road).

Beyond: Two Souls is the only game with real story I know of. That is a game with not just series of events, but with a series of events that affect the protagonist.

The best story would definitely be the Mass Effect trilogy. That being said, Bioshock: Infinite had the best ending of any game I've ever played (although, you would only understand half of it if you haven't played through Bioshock 1).

Deus Ex, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Fallout, and Hitman: Absolution all seemed to have fairly strong stories.

Bioshock infinite, Alan Wake, Batmans, Bastion (I liked it, but maybe not the best). And Devil May Cry 3/4.

Analogue: A Hate Story.

Bioshock Infinite and Walking Dead takes the cake for me in regards to more recent games in memory.
