How about INMOST? It's metroidvania, platformer and has pixel graphics, although it's more of a story oriented game with little action as a treat.

There are a lot games that could be recommanded. Though, I will keep the list short:

Metroidvania, Platformer, Pixel Graphics:
La-Mulana
La-Mulana 2

Probably, the best Metroidvania in terms of exploration with a lot of (stiff and) tricky platforming. Progress is hindered by getting the right equipment and acquiring the right knowledge. You get the best and most fun experience if you play it as far as possible without a guide, even if you get stuck for longer. However, you will not be able to complete it without a guide.

Metroidvania, Platformer:
Guacamelee
Guacamelee 2

More on the platforming side and combat with some metroidvania elements where you can access new regions only after learning new moves.

Roguelike, Pixel Graphics:

There is a lot of awesomeness and story cramped into this simple concept.

Roguelike:
Our Darker Purpose

A very awesome Roguelike, a bit on the slower side with an interesting art design. Should be known better. However, many people have issues with the more "tactical" approach the game needs instead of reflex-based playstyle of its direct competitor.

There are also a lot more platformer which could be recommanded. But I think you have sufficient suggestions in the thread already.

Both 1 and 2 are great games
I would start with 1 and if you like it get 2. 2 adds quite a bit. has all the tags to!

I am currently greatly enjoying Wall World (roguelike, pixel graphics)! If you know/liked FTL, you will probably like this too!

Dungeon of the endless. Only hits the roguelike and pixel tags but really enjoyed playing this one.
