My birthday is on the 20th, I'll be giving away Fanatical mystery keys every day up to it. Since I'm starting on the 2nd, I'll do 2 public giveaways today, but after that, I'll do some whitelist giveaways, maybe a riddle or something fun. I apologize for any confusion with previous responses, thank you for everyone's feedback, but unfortunately I broke the rules by posting links, so there will be no further mention of that in attempt to re-open this thread.

I'll whitelist for 1 of 2 reasons:

  1. Make me laugh
    or
  2. Recommend me some music! I'm really into anything in the realm of weird. My favorite band is slipknot, but I'm super into bands like Primus, Oingo Boingo, The Residents, or quirky bands like that. Also very much into old school or modern bluegrass, or even some outsider music like Wesley Willis or The Shaggs.

Furthermore, add me on Steam! I'm always looking for cool people to play with and only have around 10 friends, most of which are inactive.

I gotchu homie. Here's 5 things you might like. I don't know if I'd say they are metal, probably a version or rock or a lighter metal. But I'll be honest, I'm not great with the minute distinction in classifications of music. Like, it's not black metal it's blackgaze/deathcore/etc etc.
I don't know the comment embed thing so it's just youtube links. In case you don't click on links online ( I generally don't) I'll just put their names

Windwaker - Lucy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELfLo6y-TfI
Gnome - Ambrosius https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE-LD2EcASo
Polyphia - Ego Death feat Steve Vai https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JNmz17gnMw
The Hu - Yuve Yuve Yu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4xZUr0BEfE
Guilty Gear Xrd - Sign- OST Heavy Day - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANsFFoxh1LU

Saw them at warped tour once! It was super hot that day and I passed out in the pit. All I remember was going black while hearing trumpets and waking up in the first aid room 😅

I was just about to post when the thread was closed, so I'll still mention it: it's not my favorite type of music, but Let It Burn is definitely pretty good! I hope your band becomes big, as it rightly deserves! :D

Anyway, it's a different kind of music from what you normally listen to, but I think you might enjoy Pink Floyd's more psychedelic stuff every now and then. I've once read that some of their songs are insanity turned into sound, and that definitely captures my experience. Normally I'd recommend the more accessible stuff, such as The Dark Side of the Moon or even The Wall, but you might want to try the earlier, weirder stuff, full of Syd Barrett and his acid trips, like The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Also, do yourself a favor, and get acquainted with Pink Floyd by listening to whole albums, not to singles, songs, compilations, or even live recordings; those can wait.

And I know, I know, it's a staple and you probably know the band already, but do you truly? How well? And do you listen to it as often as you probably should, as a musician? :D

In fact, I was talking about it and then I switched the album I'm playing to Wish You Were Here, and I'm listening to Shine on You Crazy Diamond as I speak (currently on part III). Pink Floyd may not be my favorite band, but I do always go back to it every now and then...

Happy (early) birthday! :3

A band I've been really liking lately is Villain of the Story.

Two windmills are standing on a wind farm... One asks "What's your favourite type of music?" The other says "I'm a big metal fan."

... I'll see myself out. :P

I'll see if I can hit both at once:

I'll recommend you the one and only album by the band Crotchduster, titled "Big Fat Box of Shit."

It switches genres about every 20-40 seconds. There's a part where they specifically mock and imitate Slipknot .. and Slayer ... and Limp Bizkit ... and gangsta rap ... and black metal ... and psych-folk ... I mean, no matter what genre you like, it probably gets pissed on. IT'S INCREDIBLE. 🤘😤☠

It may be the most shocking, offensive, hilarious thing I've ever heard. Highly quotable.

If you like Oingo Boingo, then there is some music by Kaiser's Orchestra that should suit you. It's in Norwegian, but the music is catchy enough regardless. Ompa til du Dør is a good one. (Ompa til you die.) They have a broad range of slow and fast.

Not sure if you'll like them as I don't any of the groups you mentioned (I(m far from knowledgeable music-wise, I've pretty much stuck to the same groups/albums over and over again for the past 20 years haha), but one more recent addition to my music list is Thaehan's work. Highly game inspired as well as others, really changes depending on the mood he's in at the time. Hope something piques your interest ^^

I think you will like the music "Freeze Me" from the band "Death from Above 1979".

It's one of my favorites, but most people don't know the music nor the band.

Hope you enjoy the music and have a happy birthday on the 20th!

Dead or Alive and Devo ar my favorite weird, quirky bands. i would recommend them if you like stuff like Oingo Boingo and the residents. There is also some great quirky music in other languages.
As for a joke, i am bad at them but this one always made me laugh for how stupid it is

oooh this one gets me excited. If you haven't heard it, check out Variations on a Cloud. It's done by some members of Tally Hall, and it's kind of a remake of Ruler of everything, but with 2 perspectives at the same time, vocals layered over eachother. I love listening to those songs back to back.
