I'm currently on the fifth season of Gintama so it deserves an honourable mention for keeping me interested for over two hundred episodes. ^^
I watched perhaps fifty or so episodes of the common "battle anime" that everyone else seems to love like Naruto, Bleach and One Piece but ended up not enjoying them.

Those aren't even %5 of anime's I've watched.But I enjoyed those more than any other animes and even movies I've watched.

I strongly recommend Steins;Gate, I'm pretty sure it'll be the best thing you ever watched.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust or Darkside Blues - hard to choose one.

And if we speak soap operas… I'll choose Gintama.
