Venom.
Just watched it with my family last night and kinda sad it's standalone.

It's Horror month for me, luckily i'm not seeing all of them by myself, so hopefully, this is the year i watch all 31, unless life gets in the way.
Nekromantik
we were a bit surprised by how little Necro Romance, is in Nekromantik. It is really the case where the low production complements the little gore there is. Which almost makes it like a homemade snuff film.I mean it's fantastic they made it with barely no budget, with a group of friends. But as a movie, its alright-ish. The rabbit scene is much like how snuff films can without effort shock audiences, It's the one on screen death that makes the latter more believable, That's all it is, i doubt the movie has any meaning. Though it was a nice touch that they reversed the footage by the end of the film. something that shocked audiences, was very clearly a farm, where they kill animals for a living. The whole movie is dumb tbh
5/10
Psycho Cop
I don't remember much about it, it's a slasher film, influenced by Maniac Cop, by people who never seen a slasher film. Honestly don't know if there where any kills. I do remember the cop didn't actually talk, and then later they added a dub, so he would do some one liners, the voice is recorded in studio and does not fit the person on screen
2/10
Nightbreed
I love Nightbreed as it is, but man! is it odd. For one, it is far more complex than the straightfoward story of hellraiser, ending with severe pacing issues until our character gets to Midian, and forget trying to make sense of it until then. Ofcourse the directors cut adds like 30min of great visual horror that does nothing to fix that issue. Second is that it feels like a cartoonish monster show, made by the people who brought you hellraiser. Cronenberg, plays a psychologist, and he is far more menacing than any monster (intended), the monotone acting and presence in some of the shots remind me of Doug Bradley (also here).
8/10
The Gore Gore Girls
this movie doesn't have an end, the credits just start rolling. in fact, many things here, didn't came from the mind of a well adjusted person.
Not in a "im disgusted" way, it just makes 0 sense

Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II
It doesn't try to be anything, other than slightly funny. And still, from all the prom night movies it's the most watchable.

Prom Nigh2 is my favorite of the entire franchise. To this day I STILL quote one of it's lines.
Places to go, people to kill.
Since I don't have bluray, I have it on DVD. Actually, I bought it on release day once I heard it was coming out.

Some references and quotes are memorable, even the title seems to be a reference to Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo

Attack of the killer donuts (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4480398/). Yes, it´s cheap, and kinda lame, but it´s not terrible, you will probably enjoy it if you like B or zero budget movies.

Yes it was bad, but still fun.
Still, Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies was mildly better.

And I JUST discovered this that I have GOT to see now. Just to say that I've seen another movie that NO one will believe exists. To go along with Bloodsucking Redneck Vampires, which I have seen, and Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter which I still have yet to see.
And before you or anyone asks, I have a HUGE Lloyd Kaufman fan so I know my bad movies. :P
Edit- I forgot to add in Big Money Rustlas. Another movie I've seen that nobody I know of has ever heard of. One thing I can say about that is this.

I saw Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter ages ago, I seem to remember it was OK. I´ll check out those other 2 you mentioned, and in case you haven´t seen it already you should watch Bubba the redneck werewolf (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3710944/), it´s pretty good all things considered, and the Devil takes the cake. I assume you´ve already seen WolfCop 1 and 2 (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2781516/?ref_=nv_sr_2 and https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4515762/?ref_=nv_sr_1). Also Machine Girl (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1050160/?ref_=nv_sr_5), Tokyo Zombie (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451954/?ref_=nv_sr_1, it´s great!), Zombie Ass: The Toilet of the Dead (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2061869/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_13), Dead Sushi (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2396429/?ref_=nv_sr_7) among so many others I can´t recall, I watch a lot of trash.

Part II of horror month
Phantasm
This one is delightful. Fits perfectly with 80s horror classics. For a portion of its running time, it is slow paced and mysterious,
The rest of the movie however can be summed with one quote "don't aim a gun at a man unless you intend to shoot him. And, you don't shoot a man unless you intend to kill him." That really was a shift. Most of the creature´s designs are good. Though it definitely is the case of to much going on. Like the sphere on the cover, i have no clue how it works.
7.5/10
Children of the Corn
This has to be on some list of the most anticlimactic endings out there. The whole movie is just mediocre. The supernatural aspect makes the movie less interesting, Not a spoiler, the beginning of the film totally shows there is in an unnatural power. So it's not really a mystery, but it also doesn't want to give much info on what they pray to, or whatever there is.
3/10
Buzzard
It's not horror, though i could call it the Origins story of a Mumblecore Freddy Krueger. Which is a lot less scary, and much more depressing.
I like the concept, don't really like the movie. The story follows some narcissistic dude. It escalates from nothing, and its totally believable for this character. You know, some guy who never had any responsibilities, doesn't really have much knowledge about anything that doesn't concern him.
4/10
Kolobos
The 90s in 90min. One of those late Slashers like Scream, This one was even out after such classics as I Know What You Did Last Summer /s
Some kind of Show/Experiment shot on VHS, where people need to live together in a lodge and can't get out, but there is no show.
5/10
The Gingerdead Man
there are things in this world that cannot be explained. How these movies get produced is one of them. While a gingerbread man with the face of Gary Busey is frightening enough on paper, the movie is actually more about characters standing around, and having conversations only Busey himself could have written.
Also, the whole idea about a murderous cookie on a rampage, understandably needs a bakery to be its main setting. But no character was required to stay or enter the bakery. It's kinda funny, the bakery is the entirety of the movie, but characters are just forced to be there by the script.
Like in the movie, Busey is a robber, but then again, why would he rob a bakery?
The same thing goes for the other characters, nothing is stopping them from exiting the building, or call the cops.

Garo -Kami no Kiba-
It's a low point for the franchise for sure. Story is meh, fight scenes rely way too much on CGI and the CGI looks like low budget TV quality. Not something you'd expect in a movie. Returning characters don't get that much to do, and new characters feel kinda bland too. Couple of nice callbacks to the very first season of the series, but that's pretty much it.
I'll give it a 4/10

Odds Against Tomorrow is a very late (1959) entry into the original film noir cycle that adds a bit of European cinema verite to an already heady mix of dark post-war angst, gritty New York locations and an uncompromising look at racial tension that still resonates.

Part III of horror month
King of the Ants
Even the short IMDB synopsis spoils the film. It's a movie of increasing cruelty, ending without a shred of humanity.
It has a really good last act, but the ending and the dialogue do bring it down a notch. You can easily identify a Stuart Gordon film. But they always fill a bit rushed on some aspects.
6/10
Cannibal Holocaust
Yep still love it. Some movies should be judged on whether or not they achieved what they set out to do. It's not an easy one to watch, but it undeniably reached its objective
If you don't know what it is, it was a controversial movie back then, and it still is today due to Animal cruelty. Be warned, they did went to the jungle and killed a shit load of animals. In fact, i sure as hell didnt ask what a turtle looks if we cut it off its shell. Long story short, the spine is connected to the shell, and the bottom part sort of holds its organs.
Its also known for having some of the cringiest dialogue lines even among other italian directors.
For me it works, due to those issues. It reached its goal, just by dumb chance.
Cannibal holocaust is a statement on media sensationalism. And it does exactly what "real" news does, it manipulates and portrays people in the least relatable way. So much so, that the world believed that some of the footage used was indeed real.
The other half of the film is supposed to be "filler" to sell the real (fake) footage, as an actual feature film, so they can make money off of it.
cringe dialogue as "who are the real savages" spoken in monotone by the person who supposedly found the footage, just helps selling the whole package.
10/10
Schock
It's an alright haunted house flick. It's not as violent as most italian films. But...those italians, right? They sure love some sexual tension in their films, much like Amityville 2 (btw the best Amityville). The issue here is that it's a bit inappropriate.
6/10
Ghosts of Mars
The sad reality is that even if Carpenter did the absolute minimum, it's still better than half of the movies i see every year. What is there to say about this one there is nothing original about it. Humans colonize mars, evil spirits rise to take their land, humans kill the evil spiritis. It's not like Aliens, or Starship troopers. It's more like Ice Cube defeats the largest Metal band on Mars.
The CGI sucks, the acting sucks (well, ice cube seems to be enjoying it). However, this is one non DOOM movie, that is better than the real DOOM movie
5/10
Link
There should be more chimpanzees in horror. They are terrifying, really. Its an unpredictable animal, that people put more faith in just for being closely related. Its like 3 times stronger than a normal person and they sure as well don't question how much force they will use when threatened.
They are capable of some real cruelty in the wild. As anyone seen that footage of them cannibalizing the dominating chimpanzee.
Kinda smart to, there's a group of chimpanzees that learned how to domesticate dogs, all by themselves.
Now the movie uses that pretty ok, it frustrates you because it puts the main character in a mansion filled with them. These animals are part of an experiment, and the scientist abuses them a bit, because he believes to be the alpha.
Just like the Von Braun's experiments (System Shock 2) he is trying to make them smarter, while kinda torturing them, which is not a great idea. And these ones don't even have cryokinetic blasts.
Anyway, back to the film, the reason i said there arent that many chimpanzee horror films, is seen here. Link is describe as a Ape horror film, from there you can deduce there will be no violent monkeys
It's really good though, you never know when a certain Orangutan is gonna snap. for a while, you dont even know how much involved the other monkeys are

about cannibal holocaust.
I watched it some years ago, I was prepared and perfectly knew which movie I was to watch, being an adult and having watched other strong images before.
but I finally found that movie so disturbing that I almost regretted watching it.
you may say it hit its target, but I really think it passes a red line.

Here we go, I'll start.
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) - This movie is a joke. At first it's interesting, then it's boring and then it's just funny/pathetic. And they put it in a "horror" genre. Words are not sufficient. Nosferatu is turning in his grave. 3/10
