Why do people write 'thank you' in every giveaway?

So that, guys like you can create a thread like this! =D

It's double edged. Some giveaway creators like their e-cock stroked, so they expect thank yous. Others get pissed if people spam generic thank yous.

I usually read whatever they write in the giveaway description box. If they incite conversation, ask a question or whatever, I generally try to write a more personalized thank you message. If they leave it blank or just write "lolo winrar add me on shteam!" I think a general thank you will suffice.

You could always spam the classic "thanks for skyrim" just to mix it up a bit.

Also, you're often accused as not beeing active when your comment/entry ratio is too low. Spamming helps

Is a form of respect for the person who create the giveaway. If a person took 3 seconds just to say thank you and 2 seconds to post the comment, then it means that person gave 5 seconds of his life to thank me.

Also a way to increase the comment count, the bigger the better.
