Yes of course. I mean, to preserve your (or mine in this context) family, humans or just any sane creature out there will do anything to survive; in evolutionary terms only the most adaptable survive. Plus, stealing a loaf of bread seems innocuous enough to me.

And no, I wouldn't even bother because it's their decision to not steal the loaf of bread and starve instead. If they die because of starvation, so be it.

The best honest answer I can give you is: Yes i'd like to win a thief.

These questions need context to formulate any meaningful judgement. For starters: what is most dire circumstances? Loosing job or TEOTWAWKI? What happens next day? Does stealing makes somenone else starve to death? And so on...

If the alternative would be to starve to death I would definitely steal the bread (but preferably from someone who had enough bread anyway) and as long as someone else did it for the same reason I wouldn't complain (of course just as long as he wouldn't steal it from me/me and my family wouldn't have to starve as a consequence).

Yes? Unless the expected harm would be larger than minor financial loss (say, it's tho only bread of other family). I'd probably try to repay it later with a bonus, but if it was the only means of survival I had I'd probably take it. Bread is perishable anyway, better me than it be thrown away :P

I'd probably facepalm on admonishing person, I don't know what set of values you'd need to pick starvation/death over stealing. Why, I guess maybe some extreme form of pacifism and/or morality, but while I'd respect these, I'd also pity them. Anything else (like believing in free market and personal property to the point on death) and I would just find the person stupid, most likely.

If that even happens, everyone else in the county would be out of food too and doing the same, so it's fine if everyone else is doing it too. If it's only me, then just go beg at a church or temple. In my county Singapore the government and religious organisations provide food to the needy. So, yes and no, depending on situation.
