In the most dire of circumstances,

Would you steal a loaf of bread to feed your family? Would you admonish another who chooses to do the opposite?

Either thieve to feed, or starve-- there are no alternatives.

in my opinion there is nothing bad to steal if you need to survive(exept situation if you steal from another ppl who need same to survive, but this is deeper question). Other thing steal for beat your pokets full of money, this is pure evil :)

I probably will, because that's human nature I guess.

Will I admonish another person for not doing it? Well if they want to survive then that's the only way out.

For anyone with kids, this is a no brainer. I'd do far more than steal food for them. The harder question comes when there isn't enough food left for even the family itself. Do you sell your child into slavery to hope that they don't die of starvation? That's a real question that's had to be answered over the centuries. And that one, I struggle mightily with.

Would I admonish another? If they were stealing food directly. Probably not. Gets grayer depending on my situation and if they're stealing for other reasons.

I would steal that one loaf of bread if it will be a desperate situation. And i will not admonest anyone else for doing that if he is in the same situation.

For the first question it depends of whom I'd steal because if it is a person in the same situation as me it wouldn't be correct because they could die too. So, better thieve a bakery or similar establishment.

For the second question, I won't, simply because that implies that some persons will die fr their own decisions and it would be a shitty thing to do, better help them in any way.

PS: Sorry for my crappy english and also would like to say that there is more food than only bread but I understand the object of the questions. Thanks for the chance too!

I would steal too I think. But obviously not from someone in a situation similar to mine.

First wave of invites sent out. If you didn't get one (most of you) don't be butthurt about it.

What annoyingly vague criteria, ey?

I would say starve, but when in dire situations and it is someone other then myself, I would steal to feed them.

I would definitely steal food to feed my family.
I heard years ago(I don't know if it's true)that in France you are allowed to steal up to a certain ammount of money worth of food(not much). But only if you have no money available to you and you have no food.
If this is true(and I wouldn't put it past the french, they're very socialist from what I can gather)I think it's a really good idea.

Of course I would steal a loaf of bread to feed my family.

It's not in my place to question what others would do in the same situation but I would happily share my bread with the other person and their family - even if it meant not telling them that I stole it.

Starving is not an option if I can help it and I hear that it's a slow and agonizing way to die.

If I had no other choice I would steal, after all family is the most important thing we have. Even in the most dire of circumstances I would never take something from other people in need, the best course of action is going Robin Hood style: take from the rich and give to the poor. And no I wouldn't admonish anyone, I'm not a judge, everyone is free to do what they want.

When it comes down to it, you really don't have a choice. Even the folks who say they'd rather starve, would you really let your family starve to death with you? Foolish pride if so. Even then, you'd think differently if you were actually faced with starvation. Survival instincts would kick in and you'd probably do more than just steal.

I'd steal to keep me and my family alive. There's not much choice. And no, I wouldn't admonish others for doing the opposite, but at the same time, I'd be more worried about my own family

Why stop at bread? Get some pepperoni and some cheese while you're at it! Nab a wallet and do a food run for the hungriest of us.
