My advice: be a mother/father, not a woman/man with a child 😉
Congrats! 👍🏻

This is not the forum where you ask for that kind of advice.
That said, I would suggest that you spend as much time as possible hearing his cry before acting; the baby cry is not the adult cry, it's the only way a baby has to communicate during several months and almost the same sound is used to communicate many messages, such as I'm hungry, I'm tired, I'm dirty, I'm in pain, I'm in fear, ... The key is that almost. Try to distinguish as fast as possible among the several cries, I mean the parents eventually understand their baby cry, the key is that it happens quickly.

First of all: Congratulations!
Actually I think, you'll figure out most of your questions on your own. To your point with the nappy I would recommend washables. Not that they are better in general. Actually it's more work, but you will produce less trash and that can't be bad. Also, try to cook as many as possible. This way you'll be in much better control about what your child is eating and health gotta be the most important thing you need to take care of.

Congrats, khayolin ^_^
So many solid advice already, so I'll tell you what I know being around my 2 months old nephew.
He's nursed on breastmilk and grows strong every day. We talk him like to a grown person much more than in baby goo-goo-gaa-gaa. He reacts with a smile every time to my throaty gibberish :D
My brother is using disposable nappies, stopped using aerosol air-fresheners (now using natural oils in a humidifier) and has a strict no-smoking policy.
Much love to the young family <3

1) Get him vaccinated
2) Keep yourself very clean whenever handling him
3) You will have many sleepless nights so be ready for it
4) Reward your child for good behaviour
5) Children learn by observing you so keep that in mind all the time
Congratulations!

about sleeping a child
It was crazy to me at first but a lot of my friends use a hairdryer to put their kids into sleep. I didn't know this but the sound of hairdryer seems to be calming for children and helps them fall asleep. Confirmed by different friends.
Congratulations! \I^v^I/
