Feelings & Sexuality: Your feelings are your own. You can love whomever your attracted to and any gender you like.
(Please keep in mind that the law still forbids f.ex. childabuse or anything like that (not like religion which legitimizes such stuff btw..) )
Moral/Ethics: You dont need a book/religious figure to tell you that murder (or anything alike) is bad. Thats should just be common knowledge. Also caring for your parents. If you dont do that - Not god will strike upon you. The society itself will tell you that your an asshole.
For me, religion is like a penis.
Its nice for you to have one. You are free to play with it. In privacy. And dont start shoving it into other peoples faces except they drastically want you to.
/e: before i forget it... also.. just because you have a penis doesnt mean your something special and deserve anything more than other people.. also there shouldnt be taxreduction or similar because you have that little helicopterplaything there...

you should look up for more history. not just what you have learned in school. the others things you sad, shows your ...ehm.. people always HAVE to believe in a greater existence. nowdays too. its a requirement. (and im not talking about the pizzadelivery jobs)

All those people following something (relligion, non-relligion-vegan etc.) and talking about it any fucking second of their lives and trying to convince others into following them...duh! i hae them! Follow/don't follow whatever you want. Just dont let others know. THEY DONT CARE :) Have a bump!

My main issue with Atheism is that it's a looser's bet.
It Atheists are right then there is no life after death, then there is no benefit for knowing this, however if some other religion that offers a paradise to it's believers is correct, it seems logical to pick one a beliefs for that benefit. If you are wrong you'll probably end up the same place the Atheist would anyway
other benefits of a religion:
- A "day of rest" a good excuse to slack off,
- A free pass to make jokes about you chosen religion without being called a bigot
- Blessings and miracles
- A built in seance of smugness

All I'm saying is is if you choose some religion you get a chance at some eternal reward. Be it sipping wine in Zanido, feasting in Valhalla, or explaining sex to 72 virgins.... Actually on reflection the last may be more an eternal punishment.

religion slows down so much process. however i didnt call myself atheist,but im pretty close... btw im celebrating christmas and bunny n sht,just becouse it a tradicion.
i bet the vatican prevents us from being too smart, and open minded. (us... everyday people. not scientists,or anything)
alse religion means we can start war. some people will make money from war.
so, to stay du.m and make money to the owners of the world, im pretty sure religion will be here for like more 3-400years.
ohh and most importantly. people who have weak mind, can also pray for better times. so they will calm down

Atheism just means:
A = without
Theism = Belief in a god
What are the benefits of being an atheist?
Religion relies on fear to keep you in line.
Chris Hedges has written about this. He went to seminary school and is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist.
I suppose less fearful and more open people gravitate to Atheism.
Christopher Hitchens was an interesting author you might want to check out.
What I am writing here is just my perspective. Not mean to hurt anyone's feelings.
I am not saying I dislike religious people. I would like religious people to stop trying to shove their religion on everyone else; I mean, making laws. Stop making laws based on your religion, please. ie. Separation of Church and State! And let go of your superstitions and fears!
