I'm kinda new here, and I do not use the forum too much unless it is to check posisble deals/FTK/bundles (gonna be honest the community here share a lot of cool information!), so I didn't have the pleasure to meet him. Even if I didn't have that pleasure, reading a bit it is clear how meaningful he was for the community, and such a great person. Lost a member of that relevance for any community it is always a sad lost.
My condolences and hope he is resting in peace now!

Can't believe it. I have him on my Steam as friend and he helped me when I was newer to reach lvl 1.
I hope he rest in peace and his loved ones find comfort in the face of this loss. U.U

Just look at his SG profile and the threads he created. It'll give you an idea of what he was like.
He was extremely generous, very welcoming of new members, he even gifted game keys to level 0 people so they could give them away and reach level 1. He was a huge asset to this site in every way.
I remember when I joined SG, he was one of the first people to make me feel welcome here. A lot of people can probably say the same about him and this is why he's so loved.

It's hard to believe it, R.I.P icaio, we didn't talk too much but he decided to help me a couple of times :(

My personal favorite memory on Steamgifts with icaio is probably when I made a post on a discussion thread saying that jetskis should in fact be called boatercycles, and he joined in agreement while convincing the thread this is factual and immediately added me to his whitelist...RIP :(

Well it's a shame that such a loved person within the community died.

I was thinking “who is he talking about?” and then I saw the avatar.... Now I'm in shock.
I didn't know him personally but he seemed like really nice people - I think he's one of the first users here that I whitelisted!
RIP, icaio :(

I hope it is not true, but if it is, RIP. One can only hope to be loved by so many and impact so many people they never even met. He was a beacon in the community and will be so dearly missed.

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.
EDIT: as it turns out, I do have some more information
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.
