I'm crushed. Genuinely. He brought so much warmth to the community. Did his cousin say at all what he had passed away from?

Thats very sad and unfortunate to hear. Sounds like quite the personality he was. May his generosity and kindness never be forgotten, Rest in Peace.

EDIT: here are a few giveaways from other users that haven't yet been retrofitted into ashtwo's little community train:
While I may have some (ir)responsibility for the train, it was my intention it be icais's memorial train, I'd like it to be said as such. Not mine.
The train has no rules that I know of. Do what you want. Some carts are a few days, some are 3 or 4 weeks. The first cart ends in a few days, I went with Nov 23rd. Some are sooner and some are later.
Would nice in my opinion that people in a couple weeks learn of this, can still ride the train as it is as some carts are still there for them.
Only rule that I would ask for is please dont put a sgtools gate in this train, make a 0 CV cart with a sgtools spur if need be. The one that happened seems to be worked out.
In my mind this train has really been helpful for me, each cart is clackity clack, and then someone else steps up and shares an icaio story.
Hey, hopefully its BS and icaio can see firsthand what many people think of him when he was missed!

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.
EDIT: as it turns out, I do have some more information
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.
