  • One article with : RuSSia told us about ukraine attack, but they dont gave any proof for it

Very interesting video on Central Asia countries.

So you are saying someone can post such news here about Russia i.e. some "success stories" not just "fail stories" (you can name it like you want)? I think it will be labeled as "trolling", "Putin's bot" and all those things that for some reason became "not insulting other users" (at least for me it's insulting).
Most of these countries/republics are linked to Russia, some of them pretend that they against Russia, but all borders are open and there are no restrictions applied from both sides.

I have to strongly disagree
The whole situation in Central Asia is about Ukraine too.
Russia wants to control Caspian sea and Black sea.
Because Russia can't have all those Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan and Georgia have an independent pipeline to EU for their gas.

I thought it was a really good video tying situation in Ukraine to Central Asia.

There is not much impact from situation in Ukraine with Georgia-Russia relations because the main impact was made by the war in 2008 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Georgian_War) - as far as I know there is some active restrictions between our countries atm, but people from Georgia live in my town (like a lot people and there is no conflict between us - politics do their politic stuff...).
With Kazakhstan - I can say that Russia and Kazakhstan have some bad "public" relations and we can say because of Crimea and war in Ukraine, but I think that is just for "public" to make US and EU not to apply sanctions to Kazakhstan (maybe I'm wrong, it's just my opinion).
So "war in Ukraine" was just part (play not main role) of actions that made relations bad or relations that look bad.

Yes, even if the health issues turn out to be untrue, he is still unstable.
Either way Burns himself also has noted how delirious putin is - https://www.voanews.com/a/us-warns-putin-falling-for-his-own-rhetoric/6667777.html

https://theins.ru/en/society/253329 - also psychiatrist who has been looking into doings of putin for years states that he is showing signs of being psychopath with sadistic traits and narcissistic characteristics. With clear signs of being manipulative, egoistic and aggressive. And this also corresponds to things that have been recalled about him being like this already in school years. I mean it all is just unsettling. And with level of obsessive ass licking the propaganda media does in Russia, there is no surprise why the ego of him keeps on growing. Who else but self centered narcist would take shirtless photos riding a horse?

Many thought that he would push for ending the conflict before "elections" to gain more support, but with lavrovs todays announcement on how they want to go deeper in UA it seems that Kremlin has truly lost the last of the brain cells those morons had collectively. They are still pushing for continuous bombarding despite the losses.

Russian soldier calls relative - says "we're losing". Soldier notes their artillery is "so curved" they miss their targets by kilometers. The barrels on Russian artillery is worn out.
Previously, the Russian army hammered Ukraine with more than 60,000 shells a day, which had an effect on its artillery. The Russian artillery barrels are in poor condition, the barrels are curved and the artillery drastically loses precision.
The average Russian artillery barrel has a lifespan of 2500-3000 rounds, and several analysts have estimated each canon fires about 25-30 shells a day for a life span of 75-100 days, roughly. Even an additional 5 shots a day can significantly reduce the life span of accurate artillery. Another factor is that Russian artillery has a lower range than NATO artillery. Russia is forced to improve its artillery range by using more propellant charge, which increases barrel wear.
Usually it is repaired by replacing barrels, but Russia has logistical problems (Himars are effective against Russian arms depots), nor can Russia spare or remove any artillery from the line long enough to make repairs because Ukraine has destroyed so much Russian artillery.

“We do, but it’s so curved you can measure the [target] misses in kilometers,” he says, adding that “Everything’s sad.”

Quote from article... That moment when you cannot get any news, just write that some solder made a phone call to mother...

HIMARS are effective against Russian arms depots

As far as I know Ukrainian forces just spam from every system they have at some point to cover HIMARS strike to 1 specific depot (target). Standalone HIMARS is useless...

Looks like you need some explanation of this part of sentence "from every system they have" - every system also includes Tochkas, Grad, Smerch etc All these can be intercepted and destroyed in air. When you "rocket/missile spam", you cannot intercept all rockets/missiles.

Rocket/missile Range
MLRS 9 km
GMLRS 15-92 km
ATACMS 25-300 km
PrSM 60–499 km

Last 2 types of missiles very-very pricey... (and like US government we trust them on 100% said "we did not give any of these to Ukraine")

or just spammy spam, so you said something and earned 15 rubles?

OMG...

Prosac, you actually need to read messages you wrote before (or try to remember them), because you lost something...

Grad BM-21 range 72 km, usually more then 1 unit used and each with 40 rockets.
So lets assume the one side have 3 Grads - 120 rockets and 1 HIMARS - 6 rockets (or only 1 ATACMS rocket for 100K $)
Other side have 3 Tors - 16 rockets each unit so 48 rockets to intercept...

So math here is the following:
"rocket spam" (126 rockets) = ~78 rockets will hit target (to intercept all rockets other side need at least 10 Tors)
1 useless HIMARS = 0 hits

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

you know, that happens, when you drop claims without proof and sources
so i googled for this unit and found this https://military-history.fandom.com/wiki/BM-21_Grad
it says only Iran and Egypt have rockets with +40km range

also your "math" calculates with a 100% hit rate, when it's only 70-90%

Food crisis: Ukraine grain export deal reached with Russia, says Turkey - BBC News
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-62254597

Diplomats say the plan includes:
Ukrainian vessels guiding grain ships in and out through mined port waters
Russia agreeing to a truce while shipments move
Turkey - supported by the United Nations - inspecting ships, to allay Russian fears of weapons smuggling.

I would consider it a good sign as long as things are not anticlimactic like the evacuation corridor.

Is this when problems arise?
It will cause more political unrest around the world.
The situation will worsen, with the ruling party of each country being made the scapegoat, and more countries will be pushed beyond their limits.
And between political conflicts, they will be starved by the inevitable starvation and unable to compete with anything.
Before that happens, some countries may choose emergency measures.

Therefore, it is highly desirable that nothing goes wrong.

As have already reported in previous "what ifs," this is a serious problem for Russia, Ukraine, and the planet.
Russia will be dependent on China for food problems.
This means that the time will come when China will adjust its numbers of Russians.
This action has created the perception that "Russia does not abide by international treaties."
In the future, people may say, "Ukraine did it."

You insisted, "Go-Go Russia!"
That is, Russia intentionally launched the missiles. That is how it will be interpreted.

Russia is now stepping into territory where it is impossible to resume economic transactions with other countries.
Please think carefully about whether this is really the right thing to do and act for your own life and safety.

Western and African countries will more than likely take emergency measures against Russia to prevent it from collapsing due to the food crisis it is causing.

We may be beginning an era on earth where neither the Russian government nor the Russian people are considered human beings.
It will be the people's efforts to correct their government, but their last chance to escape is near.
If you are on Russian soil, you had better run away.

P.S.: The WHO has also declared a state of emergency due to "monkeypox".
Global logistics may cease to function sooner than the Russian government thinks.

WHO declares highest alert over monkeypox - BBC News
https://www.bbc.com/news/health-62279436
WHO:Monkeypox

Soldiers are human beings, and if the disease spreads, they will not be able to fight.
The people who transport the supplies needed for war are also human.
When the economy comes to a complete standstill, it is other countries that will save it, and right now Russia has only China to save it.

That is how it is.

I feel very sorry for the Russian people.
The Ukrainian people are going through unspeakably sad things with their relatives in Russia, their families in their own country, and their entire lives ruined.

If you are a spokesperson for the Russian government, review what is happening and report it to your superiors or run away.

That is all I have to say in reply to you.
We do not plan to provide any additional replies on this matter.

Kappaking, that is how propaganda works... (I really support that BBC was banned in Russia)
Just read the agreement:
https://www.un.org/sg/en/content/sg/note-correspondents/2022-07-22/note-correspondents-today%E2%80%99s-agreements
There is nothing about aggression (i.e. stop shelling), this agreement just about full Russian control over key Ukrainian ports (Odesa, Chornomorsk, Yuzhny) to export grain etc.
As far as I understand targets of these strikes were non commercial boats in that port.

it's good that you support the ban of several reliable and independent medias in russia so nothing would interfere with your blue pill and you can believe whatever you want to believe, but please spare us with your believes, because no one here is interested in them

You are repeating almost the same message with "aliens" and "blue pill" :D

It was unclear what the strikes were targeting and whether any grain infrastructure was hit. Russia may not have technically violated the deal, since it did not pledge to avoid attacking the parts of the Ukrainian ports that are not directly used for the grain exports, according to a senior U.N. official. If there were military targets nearby, Russia may have been trying to exploit a loophole.

Over 1,000 Russian troops encircled, requesting a “green corridor” from Ukraine, AFU sources report

According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian forces near Vysokopillia are represented by three battalion tactical groups, including an armor group and a Spetznaz company tactical team. Even if the groups are short on personnel (which is a possibility, military experts say), there may be up to 1,000 troops. Sources from the AFU and military intelligence believe 2,000 is a more realistic assessment.

Are they not afraid that we'll do to them what russia did to our soldiers EVERY FUCKING TIME? russia agrees to make a green corridor, only to murder each end every soldier trying to come through it. This has happened every single fucking time, and every time they swore our soldiers would be able to come out unharmed. Riiiight.

The usual Russian trolls are late to say it's a fake. Perhaps because in their alternate reality, anything not pro-Kremlin is already labeled fake, it must be hard under those conditions to spot anything truly fake.

Yeh, I understand. Their lies and propaganda pisses me off too, and I also made previous unfriendly comments.
But every reply is always "we didn't do it". Or a link to a Russian "press" which most of the users here can't even understand.
In the end, they do it as a paid job. Or they are stupid naive Russian extreme nationalists. So either way it is like talking to a wall that keeps coming back. People like that enjoy the discussion to spread their hate and war. And normal people who don't like violence/war/rape/killing or even see the horror they are doing, it will just upset them. It's the downside of being a normal good person unfortunately.
Of course it is important that the truth is told, but to these trolls.... There is just no talking to them, if Putin tells them ghosts are real, they will all sleep with a nightlight. If Putin tells them he nuked all ghosts, they will praise him.

So yeh, I guess what I am saying is. Don't get too much worked up over internet idiots. You guys have it rough enough irl around there.

[main points.]

  1. posts from Ukraine and Russia never disappear.
(They are everywhere on Twitter, Facebook, You Tube, chat sections of leading distributors)

  2. the disappearance of this discussion will create a debate over the debate.

  3. avoidance by add-ons seems to be the best solution based on past discussions

  4. it will last for about a year after the war is over

The following is an overly long explanation.
There is no need to force yourself to read it.

I see comments like yours once a month.
Probably because there are so many posts that I can't see what you are talking about.

We believe it is best not to get into emotionalism and interpretation. Only fact checking is what is needed.
As to why Russia is constantly using BOTs, diplomats, and agents of various countries to call out "bullshit and transparent lies" on social networking sites and message boards....
Anyone can see that it is a bunch of public opinion and bias.

But they use it as a way to "push lies" on people they "can't be bothered to deal with" by proudly "calling out" what they know to be "lies".

It is a means of "Alarm fatigue."(war fatigue)
It is a way to subjugate people to the effects of war to the point that their food, clothing, shelter, and entertainment are threatened before they can fight.

I have told this story once as a reminder.
Three months ago there was a re-increase in coronas, and this time "monkeypox" was added to the others.

It's a story I hate to even think about.
I think this is common if you live on earth.

Until we "deal" with the main cause, the once-a-year big event will continue to hit us as a once-a-month big event.

If you want to erase these posts completely

1. regulate "politics" in discussions and have supporters erase all posts.
(I recommend revising the guidelines)

2. do not look here, as Russia has not created a separate discussion, except for this discussion.

If there is no longer a place to post, perhaps a discussion called Russia Awakening will be created. From what each of you have said in the past, there is only one discussion dealing with Russia and Ukraine here, and since this is essentially a gaming community, it is unlikely that there will be more discussions of the same kind, since disruption would interfere with other discussions and violate the guidelines.

I have proposed and heard discussions related to "1" in the past.
Would you like to add a topic category for the topic of war?

3. If you don't want to see it, don't use add-ons to display it.
This seems to be the gentlest way.
In an era when web browsing from Russia is sometimes restricted, some people seem to get their information here.
(This seems to be much more relaxed now, but it is still possible that inconvenient information may not be available.)
It is important to protect freedom of the press, speech, and expression.

Your 4 points can be merged to just one: political threads/discussions should not be allowed.
Why should not be allowed: because such topics in 100% cases lead to insulting and abusive language.
But sadly I see that SG mods are supporting that... yeah, calling users with different opinion or who trying to just clear some things as trolls, bots etc that is not insulting.

"different opinion" on a genocide, how nice

I wonder what can go wrong here.

But sadly, the SG mods seem to support it...

Why don't we add a topic category for topics related to war
This is due to past community discussion of "policy" and its consequences.
If you just want to separate the categories I think I can do it.
But like your opinion...
... since we would have to import personnel from all over the world to determine which are political statements It seemed physically impossible🙄.

A Tower of Babel would be needed.XD 🗼

This is the community with the 1st and 2nd largest number of Americans and Russians.
The fact that about 70% of the people there are expressing their opinions means that they do not want to restrict free speech.

Regarding your "spoiler" part.

One can see that several social media, including Twitter Inc. and even Microsoft, suffered from Russian BOTs and SPAM posts in the early days of the war.
I think it remains as an old argument.

One is that the criteria for SPAM and BOT in SG is a bit different from the former.

For example, it is acceptable to some extent to make political pursuits in a discussion.
(Moderators and supporters may caution against overzealous exchanges.)

However, if you write in the comment section of a "present" after the other person's drawing period has ended, and you write about a topic that they are not allowed to discuss, do not expect a response.
If the other person writes "do not post", you must end the conversation there or you will be treated as SPAM or suspected of being a BOT.
(Topics that the other person does not tolerate are not acceptable)

Usually, people who become friends within SG may exchange current topics.
(They may friend you on Steam as you get used to it).

In any case, leaving the discussion, when you enter a drawing for a game, you should express your appreciation when you receive the game, no matter what the nationality of the other party is.

You will be happier as a human being if you value the humanity of your friends who are always playing on your immediate side than if you go along with being exploited with the fraudulent tool of "money" for the convenience of some powerful people.

As usual, sometimes the "space translator" is not working well.
I was not speaking against you personally, but about something that everyone can think of.

Chomsky is also known for his leftist views and criticism of US foreign policy. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Noam Chomsky has become one of the most visible Western intellectuals who, while condemning the war, blames the West for some of it - and calls for a "peaceful resolution of the conflict." Medusa spoke to Chomsky about what he means by this.

funny, how he talks about those provocations, but didn't gave any example, i think he just got dull at his high age, i definitely feel more dumb after reading the interview
UPD: I definitely won't read another stupid interview with him, because of the above stated reasons and i don't want to get additional headache

also not very smart of him to cancel out other options, like growing dissent in russia, because of the losses, which could end the war.
He just points out 2 options, capitulation of Ukraine and nuclear strike of russia to not only Ukraine, i mean really, how stupid are his assumptions?
And after that he's going on with sowing more fear about a nuclear war, not mentioning it would be a suicide move for russia to then blaming the West for supporting Ukraine with weapons, because this could bring bring the world to WW3 and leads to a total annihilation, i mean, who will strike with nuclear weapons first, who will be the real on to be blamed then?
Not to mention all of his other questionable statements

He gave an example of similar provocation:

Similarly, the Mexicans may decide they are ready to join a Chinese-led military alliance so that China can deploy its weapons on the US southern border.

As I remember , in another interview he also mentioned Cuban missile crisis as an example: when Americans found a Soviet base near their border, they considered this a provocation and similarly threatened to start a nuclear war.

Why does he cancel out other options like alien invasion or divine intervention? Because they don't look realistic.

Noam in't looking for someone to blame, he's speaking about things his country can do now to actually help common people of Ukraine.

Why do you consider any piece treaty to be capitulation? Chomsky actually offfers a referendum for contested territories so the citizens can decide where do they want to belong.

that example lacks some correlation, because Ukraine wasn't on the brink to join NATO and NATO hasn't stationed significant troops in other eastern europe NATO counties, not to mention, that russia stationed more troops on their border, someone linked an article about a new base in the Murmansk region, so it's clear who provokes whom

for the Cuba example, maybe the US threatend, but did they invade Cuba?
Not to mention he continously condemned the invasion of russia and supports the delivery of weapons

Why does he cancel out other options like alien invasion or divine intervention? Because they don't look realistic.

dissent of the broader russian population seems unrealistic to you, because it's a divine intervention? Well, each to his own

Chomsky actually offfers a referendum for contested territories so the citizens can decide where do they want to belong.

i think i missed this point in the interview, doubting it was even there, but i won't reread it
and all he says about a peace treaty is, that both sides won't be happy with such a peace treaty and it's unlikely to happen

George H. W. Bush made an explicit promise to Gorbachev that NATO would not expand beyond East Germany. So basically every other move to the east is a provocation that was tolerated.

for the Cuba example, maybe the US threatend, but did they invade Cuba?

They did it in 1961. So the military base was placed there to prevent further agression from US.

We are talking about an alleged verbal promise to the leader of an entity that ceased to exist shortly thereafter. Russia is not the Soviet Union. Also it's not like NATO forced itself into the region. All these ex-Eastern Block countries were extremely eager to join NATO and escape Russia's sphere of influence. Maybe Russia should reflect on that. I think it's a morally disgusting superpower mindset how Russia would want to reserve the right to dictate foreign policy to the nations in this region. Similar to the US' meddling in Central and South America.

Seeing the invasion of Ukraine or even just the state of affairs in Russia and its satellite states I'm extremely grateful that we managed to break free from their sphere when Russia was at its weakest.

Exactly. Chomsky says the current situation is bad, but nothing new - USA and other Western countries have done the same. Yes, there were people saying they should stop, but no one proposing to put the agressors under such heavy sanctions so they could never repeat such adventures. The moral aspect wasn't ever raised when discussing Western agression, so it's a little late to put a moralist mask on.

So, you just assume that if "the Mexicans may decide they are ready to join a Chinese-led military alliance so that China can deploy its weapons on the US southern border." something bad will happen to them? What if I tell you it's just your (or his) imagination?

Why do you consider any piece treaty to be capitulation?

Because it is. We have tired diplomatic way. For 8 years, since russia stared this war. And only result was the russia escalating conflict even more. You know, that's why people all over the world consider russian people barbarians. Because you keep living in the past, and believe that it justifies your actions in the present. "Look, barbarians killed people when they were disagree with their opinion, why can't we do the same? Look, Germany invaded soviet union, why can't we invade Ukraine? It's all the same!" Mate, Cuban crisis was 60 years ago. Things changed. I mean, things changed for the rest of the world, but it seems not for russia. If above scenario would happen - sure thing US would react. But their reaction would be economical sanctions, and building anti-missile defence on their land maybe, not attacking their neighbors just because of some political decisions (especially, if those decisions not even made yet). Yes, if it happened a century ago - sure, their reaction will be the same as of modern russia.

So what was the diplomatic solution you proposed?

Google what Minsk agreements is. And how russia never followed them, even though it was greatly in their favor.

descriubes how West isa willing to giht till the last Ukrainian

The West can't send soldiers into the conflict, that's the rule of proxy wars when it involves a nuclear superpower. It's Ukraine that is willing to fight to the last Ukrainian, they can capitulate at any time if they wish so.

messing up any attempt at diplomatic solution to the war

There's no diplomatic solution acceptable to both sides. Without Western help Ukraine would most likely have to capitulate at some point, cede large territories to Russia and/or have a puppet regime installed over their head and stop being a sovereign nation. These pro-diplomatic solution types are essentially advocating for Ukraine to just bend over.

Continuing the war would leave the Russia weakened and Ukraine devastated. And as the losses from both sides grow, the demands from both sides will grow. The sooner they stop shooting and start peace negotiations, the sooner they'll find a solution, even it it will not be considered great by both sides.

I had one question to you - you think that just because something happened in history, it means we can explain and justify same thing happening now? You can explain of course without trying to justify the actions, but it does not lessen the atrocities that have been done. Especially if your explanation towards invading a country is "West did it as well".

You described your wet dream to send the Russians into Finnish labor camps, I reminded you that it was already done. And it's not the lack of hatred that stops Baltic countries from invasion, but the lack of military power. That's why we speak about explanation, not justification - there's nothing just in geoploitics.

Your hypocricy and the hate speech surely helps to lessen the atrocities. Keep telling yourself that.

What is wrong with you? I provided that as an example for you. Not that something I or anyone would want to do. We are not sick in the head and no one would want to do something like that. Even less so attack or invade anyone. If you have problems understanding what I'm writing in plain English maybe go back to elementary school.

I gave you hypothetical scenario as an example for question I asked you. You still deflected form answering that by changing subject to trying to paint me as some Russian hater. I'd stop answering you but I don't want someone reading your ramblings and misunderstanding what I wrote.

If you still have problems understanding me - soviets sent citizens of Baltics to Siberia to work in labor camps where countless people died. I made a comparison and asked you - if similar thing happened today - would you think it was okay just because it was already done? You've been deflecting and deflecting and changing subject constantly.

I couldn't be more clearer then that. How can you misunderstand something like that? I don't hate Russians or want to do any harm to them. I want Russian army pulled out of another country and kremlin to pay for crimes they did. Apart from that I would like the world to go back to peace times so we all wouldn't have to fucking struggle to fill our cars or heat our homes due to unstable dictator wanting to rebuild soviet union.... god damn this is ridiculous

You forgot to mention that Latvia was a part of USSR, so basically you were the Soviets. And it was Latvian courts that sent it's citizens (if they were guilty of major crimes) to Siberian or any other penitentiary available across the USSR.

Is it ok to use prisoner labor? That's a topic for another discussion. I think yes, especially if you want to divert them from criminal ways and allow them to reintegrate into society.

https://gulag.online/articles/soviet-repression-and-deportations-in-the-baltic-states?locale=en

I have no idea what you are talking about - I am literally talking about forced deportations of Baltic state natives in numbers of hundreds of thousands of people. So no, my hypothetical question did not involve prisoner labor but regular people who got forcibly taken from their homes and sent to gulags. I don't know if deliberately or not but you again somehow deflected my question.

Sorry, this is getting a bit offtopic now, but cmon...... I am not about to ignore you so openly twisting the tragic history Baltics had to suffer under soviets. People who where alive back then remember this as horror. They see this war in Ukraine as flashbacks to the horrible horrible atrocities committed by soviets and they prey whatever happens its not another occupation. Only people trying to rationalize this obviously are disconnected from what its like to be in war or under occupation.

The families for deportation were bandits, nationalists and their supporters. Chosen by local authorities.
I know your country puts people into prison for even doubting the myth of "soviet genocide", so you'll openly deny it for your own safety, but I still hope you'll give it a thought.
Also it was done just before the war, applying the same logic that USA did during the deportation of the Japanese Americans.

Wow. For moment there I was starting to feel bad for being aggressive at you.... Well, you know - You deserve all of it. It's even more sickening to read how you twist the the history so it sounds better for you..... Are these absolute lies what you're being thought in Russian schools? What happened was soviet military came to houses of people and separated families and forcibly deported everyone without a thought. People literally lived through this here so we know what happened. I fell like I'm losing brain cells reading this gibberish from you....... And what is that sick shit about people being arrested over this? You have at least one proof you god damn pillock? We literally see how people in Russia are arrested for calling this a war... and you have the nerve to accuse other countries over this?

You just proved you are a paid troll - going by the kremlins playbook - take everything that is being said about russia and turn it around. There is no surprise anymore how you think that russia is in the right attacking Ukraine... if you are being told such lies as these I'm afraid where Russia will end up with such high level of brainwashing.

I do sincerely hope you receive a suspension for spreading such sick lies. This should be treated same as denying holocaust. So many people died at the hands of soviets and some yobo who has never been outside of Russia has the nerve to say none of that happened and we did it to ourselves. SICK. absolutely sick and degenerative.

I'm fucking flabbergasted by such arrogant statement.. woooow. just fucking wooow. And you say I'm hateful. You are brainwashed to such an extent I'm afraid what will come out of you next...

Yup. and you still can't comprehend what "hypothetical scenario" means. Go figure.
And of course you still deflected my initial question. Keep living in your little bubble of Kremlin propaganda. You will sure get far.

Of course sorry about your relatives. I'm not as pathetic to say those things didnt happen. FIY of course lives lost in Finnish concentration camps are no less important then the ones lost in gulag. But at least dont drop to a level of such stupidity to deny what happened. But if you have problems with getting my point - that was hypothetical (AKA something not real) example without any intention to call to any specific event in life. Lapland was simply the closest -30 degree area I could think of to compare to what deportees from Baltic states went through.

I'm sorry if I missed a real question, there are too many question marks inyour posts and most of the questions seem purely rhetorical.

I'm not denying what happened - it was well documented. I'm questioning your interpretation of events as a sadistic plan to murder innocent people, not an isolation of criminal elements and nationalist-separatists who could easily side up with Nazis when Germany attacks. And surely it's a personal tragedy for those who were moved by mistake or because of lying witness.

There is no surprise anymore how you think that russia is in the right attacking Ukraine...

Where did I say that? Or can you only operate in wrong-right, black and white mode? Well, I can also play dumb and say you think Ukraine is right to attack LNR and DNR, and justify the atrocities of Azov batallion.

indeed, this would be really dumb, because there is no correlation, between invading a soverign country and a civil war inside the borders of a sovereign country, or dou you want to talk about, how hilarious it is, that these separatists are only recognized by 3 countries worldwide, after russia supported them for 8 years, for getting strong enough and to keep the conflict up.

I think Zelensky is willing to save at least some Ukrainians, but the West is forcing him to escalate the conflict. All the weapons and propaganda pumped into Ukraine, it's hard to keep thinking straight and realistic.

You have it completely backwards. European leaders at least would really like this conflict to just go away. The European economy is hurting big time because of it. Germany's policy was to chain themselves to Russian oil and gas to foster a mutually benficial relationship hoping that would incentivize Russia to keep the peace and further integrate into the European economy. They let even the annexation of Crimea to pass with a slap on the wrist which further emboldened Russia most likely. This war caught them and several other European countries with pants down.

If anything propaganda is flowing in the other direction, from Ukraine to the West. It's crucial for Ukraine to keep the West's support and they are doing an excellent propaganda campaign to that end. And how is Ukraine escalating the conflict exactly? They are defending their country from an invasion.

Pretending that Russia would be open to fair negotiations is also farcical. Never mind that Ukrainian leadership can't just sign off on any ceding of territory to Russia as they'd fall that very moment. Ukraine will have to be thorouhly defeated for that to be an acceptable option. And Russia is very much looking to and already taking steps to annex further Ukrainian territory. If Russia was invaded how much of your country would you be willing to cede away in a peace deal to make the war stop? Especially if the aggressor could just come back for another round a few years down the line?

It looks like this war has caught everyone with pants down: Europe wasn't ready to give up on Russian oil and gas. Russia had years to build heavy industry and make economy not so dependent on imported goods and components, but they did nothing. Even USA - kudos to their intelligence service for predicting the attack - is now hit with long-term consequences their higher-ups didn't expect.

I'm afraid the propaganda machine has went out of control and it makes it harder for both sides to swallow their pride and start working towards peace. Governments are afraid that after all this war bravado any peaceful solution will hurt their reputation.

Btw, USSR did cede away a lot of territory. First to quit the WW1, see Brest-Litovsk Treaty. Then during the Civil War, when every neighbor tried to take a bite out of weakened state, and some succeded. Poland invasion got them Western Ukraine, Western Belarus and Central Russia territries as a result of peace treaty. Finland got big parts of Karelia.

You only have to watch Russian TV to know how peaceful Russia is.
Follow the link and watch the video, it is an extract from the program "An Evening with Vladimir Solovyov".

The TV presenter ,Vladimir Solovyov: "Why without Ukraine?"
The editor-in-chief of Kremlin mouthpiece RT, Margarita Simonyan: "Because Ukraine as it was, cannot continue to exist. There'll not be the Ukraine we have known for many years, it won't be a Ukraine any longer."
The TV presenter ,Vladimir Solovyov: "When a doctor is deworming a cat, for the doctor, it's a special operation, for the worms, it's a war, and for the cat, it's a cleansing."

Russian state television uses genocidal rhetoric. Only schizo-fascist fools believe that Russia is working for peace.

(First TV confession. Why did he swim from Kunashiri Island? The "unpleasant incident" that led to his escape... The whole story)
【テレビ初告白】なぜ彼は国後島から泳いできたのか 脱出のきっかけ「不愉快な出来事」とは… すべてを語る - YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI69OL3cqfw

Testimony of a Russian who swam away from Kunashiri Island.
They swam for 23 hours.

  1. after commenting on a TV interview on the Russian mainland, he was smoked out by the FSB.

  2. He settled on Kunashiri Island to distance himself from the FSB.

  3. He originally thought that the Northern Territories were Russian territory. However, after understanding the historical background of the island through exchange events with Japanese and islanders on the island, he came to understand the return of the island to Japan.
The lack of development on the island led him to believe that the return of the island to Japan was a good idea.
This may have also been stared down by the FSB and the government.

  4. His passport was also stolen, which made him distrustful of the FSB and the country. So he swam away from the island.

  5. He was longing for Japan and had some coins, so he swam to the island, bought some food at a convenience store, and applied for asylum in Japan (refugee application), but his application was not accepted.
He was not detained at the immigration center, and is said to be in a safe house of Japanese supporters with a provisional release status, which means he is not allowed to work.
It is time to appeal and "request for review".
Until that is done, the situation will not change.

  6. islanders in the Northern Territories still support the invasion of Ukraine. A small number of opposition groups are in contact with these people (their whereabouts are in a secure location, not open to the public).
The Russian government's actions are "fascist".
The public wants to believe that things will turn around.
And the people are being deceived by the Russian government.

His whereabouts are being withheld for security reasons.
The contents are rough.

Russian citizens will continue to see that as long as they are in Russia.
I wonder if the handling of those who fled from Ukraine towards Russia is anything like what happened to this person?
That is what this story made me think about.🤔
I have not heard any further reports of that story from the Russian government.

Incidentally, there were stories in Japan that the initial story of this person's swim was that he was an "anime geek" or that he was a "Russian spy.
Above all, we could have made a bad joke about "swimming and the Russian army attacking us".
I guess that is one of the reasons why the "refugee application" was not accepted the first time around.
(Maybe things will change as time passes and the review process progresses)

Ukraine Destroys Russian Battery of S-300 Air Defense Systems: Military

The S-300 anti-air missile systems are Soviet-era military technology introduced roughly 40 years ago, with a targeting range of only 75 miles. Earlier in July, it was reported that Russian forces were becoming increasingly reliant on such old hardware as modern munitions have been depleted by the protracted conflict in Ukraine. Six strikes in Mykolaiv were attributed to S-300 missiles over the first weekend of July.
...
"The Soviet Union built up vast stocks of munitions for its chosen weapon systems and the S-300 has been replaced by a new, more advance [surface-to-air] system. There will be a lot of S-300 missiles in the Russian inventory," a Western intelligence report recently explained. "It would make sense from the Kremlin's perspective to retro-fit the S-300s with a GPS capability and redeploy them in a different role. But the problem is that at the end of the day they remain second-rate precision strike weapons and more innocent people will die as a result."

What i've read it's not about precision per se, it's about that they already wasted their high-precision ammunition and now even use anti-air missiles to shoot ground targets, which they're not suited for, because they have enough ammo of it
same reason they shoot old Tochka missiles

Emoji Extremism: Siberian Teacher Fined For Commenting On Anti-War Post With Sad Face

Lots of these intercepted phone calls come from Ukraine's Security Service.
Does that make them true? Who knows
But a lot of those intercepted phone calls and what's being said can be backed up.

  • some battalions that have been wiped out, --- there was highly risky maneuver in May by Russians that ended horribly, photos and video evidence a plenty.
  • Russian that talks about dead soldiers being dumped.. --- can't show those pictures here for obvious reasons.
  • Russians proudly talking about their looting --- You can go on youtube to find many ransacked homes and my favorite the guy whose Apple tech was stolen but he can track it all into Russia.
  • Russian talks about Battalions being merged --- again can find this as well on the net in videos and images of how these battalions were reformed after taking huge losses/wounded in their initial failed Kyiv attack.
  • Ukrainian Russian who got permission of his wife to rape --- He got his ass captured.

Russian Families Descend on the Kremlin to Demand Truth About Soldiers

More than 100 families of Russian soldiers are demanding answers from the Kremlin about the whereabouts of their loved ones fighting in Ukraine.
"The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has been blocking a change in the status of servicemen for more than five months, regardless of their constantly changing information," the letter said, adding that relatives have had to look for facts and proof themselves when figuring out where their loved ones are.

Russian Soldiers' Parents Head to Ukraine to Rescue Sons

Relatives told The Insider, an independent Russian-language investigative website, that there is a large number of refuseniks which Moscow's military command is not letting return home, fearing others will follow their example.
The father of one Russian soldier told the outlet that soldiers who wanted to quit had been bullied back into rejoining the frontlines or else were kept in cramped spaces where they face tough conditions, forced labor and sometimes torture.

i remember that option from one of the intercepted phone calls, where they say it won't work

as already shown in footage before, russians POW are allowed by the Ukrainians to phone home, so if these 100 families don't know about the whereabouts, we're possibly speaking of dead russians, like the missing Moskva sailor (https://www.newsweek.com/russia-father-missing-moskva-sailor-country-betrayed-me-ukraine-1721843)

your comment is deflecting, when the report was about families who don't know what happened to their sons
when we all know what happened to the prisoners of Azovstal and families should know their sons are POWs now, but if they suddenly vanish, they should ask the Kremlin about the whereabouts too

and of course turning around the accusations, which are held against pootin
