I don't recall seeing this thread around here and I think it's a pretty cool one. You can either recommend someone a game or advise someone not to waste one's time on it. I'll start.

Mark Of The Ninja - A very good stealth-action game. It's like Splinter Cell but in 2D. Although I admit there were times when I was a little bit bored. Overall it's a very good game. Solid 8/10.

Edit:

Here's a collage of all games I've beaten over the years on PC:

Just "unbeat" the rather short Spoiler Alert, good idea, not so good game.
Didn't knew it was free at some point, that explains why i haven't seen it around here, fortunately someone gave it to me, not the first time that has happened, this is a nice community :)

I think it was a nice game. I enjoyed it :) Was expecting something worse to be honest.

A Bird Story - Good game from the developers of To The Moon. It's not nearly as awesome as TTM but it's still a good game. Mostly because of story because gameplay is rather boring and sluggish. Also, the game poses no challenge at all. It's all about the story and the atmosphere. 7/10

PS: I also unlocked all achievements in it (there's just one for finishing the game lol).

Dark Arcana: The Carnival - Collector's Edition - Good hidden object adventure game developed by Artifex Mundi. 7/10

PS: I also unlocked all achievements in it.

Demon Hunter: Chronicles From Beyond - Collector's Edition - It's a hidden object adventure game published by Artifex Mundi but developed by some other company. It's the worst game published by AM but it's still pretty nice. Nothing special though. 6/10

PS: I also unlocked all achievements in it.

The vanishing of ethan carter
relaxing little experience, spent more time walking around then solving puzzles.
Aside from a nasty bug in one of the puzzles that apparently never got resolved, i'm very satisfied with this game

Rayman Origins, fantastic game, absolutely blew away my expectations. Went for most of the collectibles, if you could call them that, but didn't go 100%. Took about 11 and a half hours, plus the lovely 20 minute credits.

Anyway, as far as pure platforming goes, probably a 9.5/10. Maybe 10/10. It's great

A couple hours in to Melissa K and the Heart of Gold now. I'm enjoying it. If anyone has recommendations for similar games that aren't completely hidden object I'd love to hear them

I'm a huge fan of hidden object adventure games and I hated Melissa. If you're enjoying it then you'll love most hidden object games that are on Steam (like 90% of them are adventure hidden object games) so just look for tags hidden object on Steam and look for good reviews. I can recommend almost all games made by: Artifex Mundi, MagicIndie and Shaman Games Studio. If you want more recommendations then look at past 20-30 pages of this thread and read my posts with "reviews", during last year I've beaten over 60 steam hidden object adventure games cause I got to love the genre and most of the ones I've finished were really good (and by "good" I mean way better than Melissa).

Thanks for the advice? So can I expect a similar mix of adventure/puzzling with most of these?

Also, would you recommend Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink while it's on sale? I'd also prefer to target ones that are of a somewhat substantial length, unless picking them up in a bundle or something.

Almost all of those games by those publishers were already bundled so expect them to be bundled again in the future. Just be on the lookout for hidden object games in bundles man, it happens often nowadays.

Yeah, you can expect very high quality with Artifex Mundi (aside from like 2 games which are their old ones - still nice but not as good as the rest), Magic Indie and Shaman Games. If you want to go through the last 30 pages of this thread I can say I recommend every game I rated at least 7, they're worth playing. 8 is definitely worth playing, means it's a very good game of very good quality. 9 is "must play".

And yeah, almost all of Steam hidden object games are actually adventure HO games meaning a mix of story/puzzles/adventure and so on.

And yeah, of course I would recommend Clockwork Tales. I rated it 8/10 if I recall. It's one of Artifex Mundi games.

What do you think of the current Cryptic Bundle 2? I'm considering it.

Bought it already. I played the first game from Weird Park Trilogy (it was in 5 in 1 HO bundle on Steam) and I rated it 7+/10 - I enjoyed it. I imagine the next ones will be even better. Haunted Past was pretty nice although it's far from the quality of HO games I was talking about before. Same with Princess Isabella, the first one, although nice, is the worst from the series (2 and 3 are much better). Escape From the Lost Kingdom is very average. But Dreamscapes is amazing, I rated it 9/10 but it doesn't have HO scenes. I haven't played the rest. For that price it's definitely worth it IMO.

Thanks, I think I'm gonna get it! Like I said before, I'd be on the fence about buying shorter games individually, but considering there's 8 in the bundle- or 10 really, if you split Weird Park apart- this seems pretty worthwhile to me.

Another short game, Never Alone, a fantastic way to learn about a new culture.
Just not very good gameplay wise, its a stripped down platformer with a couple of very simple puzzles and a big amount of glitches, nothing game breaking through

Mmh... need to think, I guess the last game I've beaten on PC was Resident Evil 5 - in Coop with a friend, it was fun, but I guess I wouldn't have played it alone :/

you have a very lovely collection of game you've finished there.Well my games collection is very big as many of them that i have finished was released for consoles such as ps2 or gamecube. But to be short to my play list i would say my biggest year of finishing games was 2011.Could not be the greatest year of games for many people but for me it has plenty of choices such as the witcher, crysis, call of duty, the legend of zelda skyward sword etc etc.Well the latest game i finished was the batman arkham knight at ps4 i borrowed from a friend because i heard for the bad perfomance ie has to pc.

Ori and the Blind Forest. A fun platformer I recommend to anyone who enjoys platforming. I play slow and collected everything. The game took around 10 hours for me to finish.

Yeah, it took me 212 hours to complete Spellforce 1 and its 2 expansions, but in the other hand SPF2 Gold only gave me 96 hours of gameplay. Both are really great games, but I can't say the same about SPF 2 expansions... it's clear that Phenomic didn't developed them, they're just boring and uninspired, at least Faith in Destiny.

Sniper Ghost Warrior
Story mode, in less than 5 hours.
Definitely not a good game but its obviously low budget and sniper 2 does have good reviews, so i guess they had to start somewhere.
In their defense, at least, it did tried changing the gameplay every so often which helps separating from better games like Sniper Elite, even though they should probably just stick to something and try making it good.
By bringing different styles of gameplay they ended up with a game that doesnt have a gradual increase in difficulty, or consistency, which can be really frustrating for someone who just started playing.
One thing that made this game worth it for me was the ending, i can't even describe what i felt, after some comedic moments in the last few levels the game just decided enough is enough and abruptly ended with no cutscenes whatsoever, only a black screen with the words "the end", only to be followed by the credits, with one of the silliest songs ever, well aside from Rogue warrior, nothing can top that, but i could see it work if the game had any sort personality.
I just have to say, wow, however wrote this was devoid of inspiration

Time Mysteries: Inheritance - Remastered - The oldest Artifex Mundi game I've ever played. It's of low quality but it's still a pretty nice HO adventure game. I wouldn't recommend it to people who are just getting into the genre though as it might throw them off. It's mostly for fans of the genre. 6/10

PS: I also unlocked all achievements in it.

Time Mysteries 2: The Ancient Spectres - Collector's Edition - Better than the first part, in every way. Good hidden object adventure game. 7/10

PS: I also unlocked all achievements in it.

Time Mysteries 3: The Final Enigma - Collector's Edition - As good as the second one and maybe even a little better. Nice ending of the trilogy. 7/10

PS: I also unlocked all achievements in it.

I just hit a mark of 600 finished games on PC ;) Celebratory thread with giveaways and puzzles coming soon.

Literally my first and longest playing pc game was Quake 3. I think I played it up to like, 2013 -_- then got a new pc and then starting buying on gog and steam under 2 years ago.

I've not kept track of my console/mobile game beat list, but it is extensive.

I can throw Lego Marvel Super Heroes on the list.
I swear those Lego games are digital crack. E every time I get my hands on one, the first 10 minutes I'm wondering why I got it as it's all the same with a different skin. And about 30 hours later I'm cheering as I got 100% complete.
