I won King Arthur not long ago and just haven't gotten around to playing it yet, but I really want to. I have a busy schedule so it will just take a while to have 3+ hours to really get down into it. Also, it's a large game, and I don't always have space on my computer. YKNOW?

Yeah it stinks, but I can't say that I'm not guilty as well. I've only played 15 or so minutes of The Ship and I've still yet to start ARES, but I blame most of that on the fact I have over 10 games to play due to Steam sale, haven't gotten to Just Cause 2, Dead Space 2, and quite a few other games yet as a result.

You waited just a month? I have a game I won over 6 months ago that I still haven't gotten around to. And it could easily be another 6 months before I get to it.
I intend to play all the games I won, but I have no time limit set. That would be silly.

I won 3 games, but I have too many other games to play, I haven't touched Nexuiz yet, but it doesn't mean I won't ever play it.

I don't understand your point of view. So if people aren't playing your game 100 hours/2 weeks - then there is something wrong?
Do you want to make someone happy? Person got a game - person is happy. He or she can play it later.
You want to make happy yourself. You want to control others - play my game or you are (put the text in). Don't push the others. You aren't their master btw.
I won EYE Divine Cybermancy a while ago. I haven't played it yet - i want to complete some other games and then switch to EYE. Is it wrong? Other people can be busy, on the holydays, away from their computers for some reasons, can be ill, can feel themselves to make some other things before playing their won game.
You guys have some serious disorder about the definition of giving, sharing and generosity.
As above said: If people added their won game to their library - they will play it anyway. And remember that you made them happy :)

I like giving to people that genuinely need it or want it.
If I give something to people that will never touch it and let it gather dust, then whats the point of giving it? It could have gone to someone that wanted it more or is too poor to ever afford the game.

But the fact is that you can't save the world... There is only one copy of the game. And only one person win this. Others screwed. There might be 100, 200, 500, 1000+ of people who really want this game. But only one guy win. God bless? Luck? Faith? But he won it. This is his "hour".
This is real life. If someone is rich - it's because others are poor. If someone strong - it's because others are weak. If someone is famous - it's because others not. If someone have power - it's because others accept it.

" It could have gone to someone that wanted it more or is too poor to ever afford the game."
Then you are at the wrong place or you should not giveaway games to strangers, and more to people you know.....and of course would make a good use of it.

Most people DO enter for what they want. Its just that they may have a backlog of games, they may have gone over their internet limit so they cannot download it. You should wait longer than a month before complaining.

And because nobody in this thread didn't said it yet i will:
"Thank you, MidnightRave for giving games and your positive actions :) It's something that makes world better on the scale of this community and people who won your games. Thank you!"

So wait, you guys rather the winner start the game, play it for a minute or so then to play it lets say 3-4 months later and beat it? I have won games that I have not yet opened, I will get to them, I rather focus on a couple games at a time and beat them then to play 50+ games for 5 mins each. I only enter ones I want to play...doesn't mean I want to play them over all the games I am half way through.
Also stop stalking people, its creepy, check if they added the game and thats it, kinda nutty to keep checking back to see if they played it...I have no clue if the people who won my games played them , nor do I care even a little.

I mean no offense by it, just creeps me out and makes me feel pressured to play it before I actually want to or have time to, thats all.
I am sure most people are grateful and will get to it.

I won Stranger's Wrath a few months ago but I am still waiting for the devs to update it and patch the HD version in. As of right now the game is laggy and has some bugs. That's why after trying the game out and reading on the forums that "a patch was coming" I decided to wait.
I am thankful I won the game but I just wanna get the most out of it.
But yeah I understand your pain. Once I was complaining about my Steam freezing when I tried to enter one of those random keys people give away on the forum. I was sad because I "could" have won the game. Some guy added me and offered me SMNC invites for free just to be nice, I declined because I didn't really like the first MNC but I decided to give him a Witcher copy I got on xmass just because he was nice to me and he said he was interested in the game.
Months later, if I check his profile he hasn't even installed the game :/ I had other games by that time so I wasn't gonna play The Witcher myself but if I knew this would happen I would have kept the gift for myself and played it later.
Damn I type too much, and no one cares about the story.

I won 11 games in the 3 weeks that i'm here. You think i could have played all of them as soon as i got them? With the Summer Sale being around at the same time?
Eventually i will play these games, but because I WON them, I get to decide when that is, i don't care when or even if the people that won my giveaways are actually going to play them, that's none of my concerns, it's their free time, their decision.
People buy games that they play months or years later, if they do it at all. Why should the games that were won be different?

11 games in 3 weeks. So much luck ;_; Have you tried the lottery yet?

Well i did win my Gaming PC but i didn't really enter a lottery yet.
When i was around 14-15 i had a dream, one of those special dreams where you know that what you see is important and you should pay attention. Basically i "knew" that i was going to win 18 million euro when i'm 21 years old. I'm 20 right now, so i will start playing next year.
I can't lose much since i only need to play for one year and only if there is more than 18 million euro in the jackpot :D

Just belive me. bigtomas1, barash, rad1game, JWall and bon3s are gratefull that you made this giveaways and they won these games. What did they said when you added them in steam? I bet that was something like: Wow, thank you MidnightRave! That's awesome!" ^_^

It's not that, maybe the winners are already playing other games and don't want to take a break from them so they don't forget the story. That's what I do, I never play more than 2 or 3 games cause I can't concentrate enough on the different stories, I like to enjoy them one at a time. When I played more than 2 or 3 games I just got so frustrated and anxious that I stopped playing them all, this happened to me on the first summer sales.

The number of games on their steam profile makes them poop all over.

Life tends to get in the way. And you might already have a massive backlog of games that you want to get out of the way instead of playing new ones.

So I use to make giveaways about every week since I finally got my first job and I gave 5 games out. I waited a month to see the end results of the people that won my games.
And apparently, its a huge fad to win a game and not even bother trying it. 3 out of 5 games I gifted were not even played and they were some quite good games.
I do not understand why people bother joining a giveaway for a game they do not even want, its like they join randomly and if they win, they keep it without playing. Does having more games enlarge their epeens or something? Because of these results, I feel that I should no longer gift to the community.
I was wondering, does anyone else get this result?
Edit: I would say taking a long period of time to play a game is explainable as long as they have a backlog or rarely login to steam or if a game is unplayable due to bugs. I've seen some examples though and all they do is play the same multiplayer game which doesn't have any advancements other than the multiplayer ranking system. Should have added this earlier.
