[REC] was really good for a found-footage type of horror film. Pan's Labyrinth and The Orphanage by del Toro are good atmospheric horror, but they didn't scare me at all so idk if they count. I still haven't seen 10 Cloverfield Lane, but that one is supposed to be unsettling like Misery was, apparently.
I mostly laugh at horror films because of how fake things look :/ Not my favourite genre, basically, unless they go for subtle and creeping horror instead of full-on gore, violence, etc.

10 Cloverfield lane isn't so much horror as it's a suspenseful mystery. The whole thing was good until the ending though. The ending really dragged the entire film down. Thanks for the suggestions.

The Thing, 28 Days Later, and Misery (probably more a thriller) are among my favourites.
