Witcher 3 is not GOTY nor this or previous year. Best game of 2015 is Tales from the Borderlands. And i'm saying this as huge RPG fan, 2015 was a "year of good, but overall disappointing RPG games" for me.
Also, CS:GO is garbage

Half-Life 2 isn't that great.
Skyrim is obviously bad. Bethesda's lazy and they owe almost all of their success to modders. Please, someone give their great franchises to someone who knows how to make video games.
Retro games have aged really badly in most cases and the admiration comes from their nostalgia goggles.
ME3 had an ok ending.
Dark Souls isn't hard. There's trickyness, but otherwise it's not that bad.
Bioshock 1 and 2 have horrible combat and look pretty bad without all options being on the highest setting. The story is also boring.
Fallout 3 is just a bad game. It's a disgrace to Fallout.
TF2 is uninspired, boring. Except for their animated stuff :D
Minecraft became horrible after the release.
Borderlands is a horrible grindy bulletspongy kids game.
Wow... I got carried away! :D

Bioshock 1 is sadly pretty disappointing story-wise if the internet already spoiled "the thing". It has great atmosphere, but lacking story, sadly :( (and I also played it on easy for the story, you can imagine it. No challenge, no real story.. Bioshock 2 was just simply not too captivating for me, got bored of it)

I finally found someone that agrees with me about retro games! I tried Mega Man Legacy Collection recently and I hated it. The level design and enemy placement was terrible. Not sure why people think retro games are so great, I don't think I've ever enjoyed one.

I still don't get why

  • Ocarina of Time
  • Sakura Spirit, Nekopara, and all those boob games
  • DOTA2 and LOL
  • Blizzard
  • Military FPS
  • Zombie games
  • First person horror games
  • Puzzle platformers
are so popular. All of these (except for Ocarina of Time, which I just find overrated, and MOBAs, which I just find uninteresting) feel so generic they're like asking for a crappy beer in a high-profile restaurant.

I agree with all of these (except Blizzard since I've only played Overwatch and don't know much about their other games). These trends don't make any sense to me.

There are a lot of games that I don't like but when you say "dirty gaming secrets" it makes me think more about my gameplay.

Stealth is my absolutely most favourite genre and I boast that I'm a very patient stealth player. I always go for full ghost and pacifist playthroughs in games that allow me (sadly majority of them don't allow you to be 100% pacifist). I say to my friends that I never kill. However my dirty secret is that after many failed attempts there are times I completely lose control and start killing. Then I reload the chapter and play the way I normally play.

Another dirty gaming secret of mine is that I mainly play games on easiest difficulty, with the exception of Stealth games which I always play on hardest difficulty.

Last but not least is that almost 50% of the time I use guides for point and click adventure games. I just can't seem to agree with game logic in such games so I tend to get stuck a lot.

Bioshock Infinite IS overrated - the story is weak, the ending everyone said was so shocking is cliche as hell if you've read enough Science Fiction -
Bioshock 2 is the best of all of them.

Hmmmm unpopular opinions...

The last of us is a horribly overrated, linear shooter, with a plot that is so cliched it would get panned to hell if it was a movie. Virus infects half of world, innocent person who has or is the cure gets paired with grumpy veteran. They learn to trust and love each other. Cure is taken, veteran recovers it. The end. Soooo original, but lets throw game of the year accolades at it and then remaster it less than a year later so more accolades can be thrown at it.

I actually really enjoyed batman arkham origins, and I think the story was actually better than asylum.

I don't enjoy GTA games. They are praised as being so clever and mature, but it seems all the energy is channelled into frat boy level sex jokes and violence. But on the flip side I do actually enjoy Saints row, which embraces the over the top video-gaminess and as a result plays more as a parody than the serious game GTA pretends to be.

I freely use cheat codes and console commands in games to the point where I'm likely to pass on an otherwise interesting game if it lacks cheats. However, and this is an important point, I absolutely only ever cheat in single player. I don't generally like multiplayer anyway, and almost never play games with other people, but in those cases I am dead set against cheating as it affects other people's enjoyment of the game.

Valve is the most money-thirsty company there is and I don't get why so many people like them and GabeN. None of their games besides half-life are their original, most of them are mods that they just remade and sold as their own product.
EA and Ubisoft > Valve.
Portal 2 is trash compared to the 1st game.
Half-life 1 was better than the 2nd installment.
CS:GO is a boring, cash-grab "game".
Starjew Valley is the most overrated game I've ever played, what a snoozefest. Might as well play Farmville on facebook.
Team Fortress 2 was better than Overwatch, even though OW is way more hyped and has a much better competitive scene than TF ever had (thanks Valve).
Survival games are the plague of videogaming.
Most of the visual novels on Steam are completely trash that only appeal to virgins. Bunch of cute girls with squeaky voices doing stupid shit. What is even more mind boggling is the fact, that those novels (Neko Para etc.) have more reviews and larger player base than the actual good ones - Clannad, G-senjou no Maou, Grisaia, etc.
MOBAs are shitty, boring RTS replacements.

I could go on for hours, probably.

I don't see what's the problem with Steam /s

Exactly. And then you read everywhere so many people sucking GabeN's cock about how amazing Steam is and about all the good Valve's done for us, all the great games they made for us. Bullshit. GabeN's sitting on his ass, collecting money from Steam store and market, while we shove money to his mouth and what's more, we're grateful for it. They're drowning in money, why would they even release HL3.

In short I usually go with "Valve is a good developer, but a terrible company"
Ah, and forgot the part when they allow every piss-poor game to their platform, even the one that defames Gabe (GabeN Simulator) probably because it's still money for them. Good thing that Totalbiscuit and Jim Sterling both started a series to actually show good released, (TB) or Greenlight (JS) games, I guess to counter the incoming shovelware. Valve feels like the gardener, that neglects the garden, so besides the vegetables and fruits more and more weed appears. And not the funny kind of weed.

Valve used to be a lot more consumer friendly, and that has generated a lot of goodwill for them. These days though, Valve seem to have got so used to being at the top that they no longer consider it important to act in a consumer friendly way. Not everything they do is bad, of course not, but they deserve less praise now than they did a couple of years ago.

I played Saints Row The Third only for the bewb physics.

And I played a female Shepard in ME because of the fine butt.

For normal I'm not much into "gaming sexism", but those were just gorgeous/fun to look at.

I don't like Minecraft, WoW, Dota 2, LoL.
Bioshock 1 & 2 are disappointing. I'm playing them on easy just to finish it. Haven't played Infinite yet.
I never played any Zelda game.
I use guides on Point & Click games when I get stuck. Shame on me.
I found Mass Effect boring, but I love Star Wars KOTOR 1.

I thought Life is Strange was pretty lame overall, and lacking in a lot of aspects.
Sonic Adventure 2 put way more focus on other characters than Sonic, and since I had the most fun playing as Sonic himself, that annoyed the hell out of me.
I miss when Telltale Games did puzzle point 'n clicks, instead of what they do nowadays.
Batman: Arkham Origins wasn't that bad. Not very different from Arkham City, but considering how fun Arkham City was, that doesn't seem like a problem to me.
Also I really like collecting Riddler trophies in Batman.

  • I've always felt like Limbo is boring and overrated.
  • I didn't mind the ending for ME3.
  • I liked the multiplayer for Tomb Raider.
  • I never finished GTA IV's story because I was too obsessed with the multiplayer.
  • I played the first episode of Life is Strange a while ago and thought it was okay, but I didn't find it that good.
  • PAYDAY 2 feels to me like a CS:GO in different settings. Which is weird, because CS:GO bores me and I actually enjoy PAYDAY 2.
  • I didn't play HuniePop for what people usually play it for. I actually liked the mechanics, voice acting (still not talking about that part) and characters. Well, most of them.
  • I prefer indie games over AAAs, simply because my attention span is really bad and indie games tend to have less busy backgrounds and less play time.
  • I've probably idled a lot more than I've actually played.
  • I didn't cry at the end of season one of TWD. I did cry when I had to kill the dog in the second one though, and I stopped the game for a while because I was too shocked and upset.
  • I literally cannot hate any game at all. Even though I find some games boring, I cannot find a single one that pisses me off. Seriously.
  • I keep getting horror games and putting others on my wishlist, but I can't play them because I'm paranoid and I hate jumpscares. I don't get it.
  • I only play games with achievements because I don't feel accomplished when playing and not getting any at all.
  • Also, I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours playing League. Even though it's free and I have a huge backlog of games that I actually paid for. Thankfully, I ended up quitting a few months ago.

I feel like I just made a script for a personal gaming sins video.

TWD 1's ending was pretty easy to foresee in my opinion, therefore to prepare for it. That part from the second thogh, jesus... It was jumpscary, then literally scary, then a little terrible to think about the situation, and the situation of the world... it was a really, really intense part.

I was spoiled about the first season since ages, but I was also spoiled for the second part and I searched up if I could avoid it and I still ended up crying because of the shock. I know that part of it was necessary, but the result could've been avoided.

I agree with Limbo. It was so boring I didn't finish it even though it's only 3 hours long. I also like indie games over AAA. AAA devs feel like they need to make all of their games be 50+ hours in order to make people buy them. I just want to sit down and play a game for a few hours and be done with it. I don't really see a reason why a game's main story to be over 30 hours.

Dota sucks.
I love steam market and trading. Even though a lot of people think it detracts from the games.
Borderlands 2 was boring.
Out of the 100 or so humble bundle games I have bought, I have yet to finish a single one. :(
