what game would you warn them about? Like, a game you should never pay for, even if it's on sale, or out of curiousity.

Starbound. I will never buy again an early access game.

I don't get why people hated so much on it.

All the wipes during major updates?

It was stable game most the time and I never felt as cheated by them as I would saaaaay Mighty Number 9?

Now that's a backing that you should regret.

Nether.. The game was fun and it looked really promising.. And then they sold it to a money grabbing team adn when they sank the ship and turned off the servers the original team came back to bring it back!.. And nothing happened...

For sure. I still can't believe I let myself fall for the hype of this game. It was around the same time I got DayZ too.

Oh well, you live and you learn. Won't ever happen again lol :D

I got it after seeing SeaNanners play it on youtube.. But i may fall for the hype again. Escape from Tarkov may take my money but besides that i won't touch those kind of games ever again!

Suits: a business RPG

Terrible youtube comment-level humour, zero balancing in combats, got me because I thought it would be somewhat similar to OFF (with which it had nothing in common, except graphics). Wish I could warn my past self not to buy it.

I loved that game, just won a a few weeks ago and beat it with all achievements. Some of the humour wasn't great, but they were pretty relevant to America today.

Sadly most of the capitalism parody was lost under a pile of pot jokes and high schooler humour. I might have found this funny when I was 15, now I just find this immature and vulgar.

I don't remember any pot jokes, instead I am talking about things like Chef Ramsey, or having to fight to get rid of the Aliens for a certain someone. Also, the fights between the left and right over different issues. It's nice to see another persons point of view though.

There were nods to "420" (aka pot) in a lot of background elements, especially plants and clocks. You might have missed them if you never checked background elements (though I don't think you missed much). I do that in every RPG Maker game I play since these elements often hide items, but I don't know if many other players do it as well.

SlamIt Pinball Big Score ; Unless, you enjoy having paid for a game that has never, and will never ever, be fixed by developers, just sitting there in your gameslist. http://steamcommunity.com/app/12430/reviews/?p=1&browsefilter=toprated

Why it's even still available for purchase on Steam after all these damn years, is a huge mystery.

99% of the weird games with simulator in their names. Grass simulator for example (i still don't know why i entered the GA for this game). There are some good ones, but most of them are a joke that may be fun for 5 minutes, and that's it, you just lost 10$. Even simulators of things that make moderate sence are usually bad and buggy.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel

Here for reasons.

Some people are saying Gone Home but that's actually one of my favorite games of all time and has probably changed my life. Definitely not for everyone, but if you like games as interactive narrative experiences and don't care much for gameplay, it's 100% worth a try. Just saying.

Unpopular opinion but Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 because I assumed it had a story/single player, but it's only a co-op game (though you can play with bots by yourself) with an extremely flimsy story to tie together the levels and the games are very short.

unpopular, but I agree. It's basically a FPS bullet-hell game

Nah. Tower of Guns is a FPS bullet-hell. Left 4 Dead are just horde-mode shooters, a genre that's been over-saturated since.

I bought it as a kid thinking it was the Sequel to Yoshi's Island on the SNES, wasn't expecting a toddlers game, second I saw the intro, I was like What the Fuck......

I felt more ripped off than I did the only time I ever bought a PSX game from a pawn shop. Resident Evil 1, played perfect till you got to a single door where it would freeze every time so you couldn't progress.

Kinda sad that no one caught the Dreamcast one.

Deadly Premonition is an acquired flavor... get past Chapter 2 and if you still dislike the game... your opinion will be taken... Many people get caught up in doing stuff during chapter 2 when the game really opens up and they fail to do the next cases which is when the story really unfolds..

You can't watch the story unfold and see how the characters you've grown to be so invested in wind up and not have the feels...

yeah, it takes about a week or so to begin to get the hang of it.
and after you figure it out, and then sinking a gazillion hours into it, you'll discover that you missed an entire mechanic that ws there from the beginning that makes it great.

On the flip side, I figured out how to conquer the world quite easily, so now it's nigh unplayable for me.

High priced games I regretted buying.. not becuase they were bad games but just because I never got around to actually playing them..

The Evil Within..

Borderlands Pre Sequel (not that it's a bad game, just that I lost my buddy that I'd always play borderlands with, so it just wasn't fun playing with randoms)

I also have numerous cheaper games I've purchased but don't really regret them that much in all honesty..
