Same. Specifically because the community and other players are so toxic. That alone steals all the fun from the game unless you are playing with a friend you can trust and communicate with and are playing against bots only.

Kimulator : Fight for your destiny. Can't really understand how someone would even vote it in Greenlight. Nor how does it have positive votes.

One Manga Day. I'm not sure the thing is even remotely thought out or even finished. I admit, I should have listened to the reviews, but it was super cheap and I was feeling low and went on a cheap game spree. Waste of time. Easy to get the achievements, but sucks ass aside from that.

dishonored for me, i was so hopeful.
I enjoyed the setting and premise in bio 1 but that's about it.

I hated it during the free weekend. Bought the goty few months later cause I was actually surprised I hated it :D And turned out I love it (though the story is a little meh) - for me it was the exploration, looking for some loot, avoiding and outsmarting guards that made the game fun. Combat is a little boring though, as they are way too easy to defeat. (The Witches in the DLC are quite a worthy enemies, fought and killed 4 or 5 at the same time on hardest - now that was one of the best feeling of the game for me :D )

Be glad you can't. My Bones is total garbage. Has some hilarious translation issues, though. XD

GAUGE, the developer thought it would be funny to add an intentionally unobtainable achievement to screw with achievement hunters.
Don't even bring up SAM, I will never even think about using that shit, I prefer getting my achievements without cheating.
Splice, although the game itself is OK, and the soundtrack is great, it'd be nice if it had some sort of tutorial at the beginning.
But I digress, this isn't the real issue...
That shit tracks you with Google Analytics, without asking for consent, or even giving an option to opt-out of it.

I can't judge myself, that shit almost gave me a seizure... and I don't even suffer from epilepsy. Although the concept is neat.
I'm glad I didn't get any achievement in that lone minute of playtime (the other 4 were just idling to be able to write the review).

I think it's great for a 1$ tier game, it would even worth 3-5$ without a question (and I'm pretty cheap) - but at full price at release... I totally understand that people felt cheated. The combat system is slapped on and implemented late, and other than that it's more about exploration and some detective work, than a fully fledged game. It certainly has quite some weaknesses. (like extreme handholding)

Controls felt bad, There weren't any interesting characters. Even main story was below average with a game like that. Clue finding system was bad. It was really boring for me. Normally I would try to collect everything in game but i didn't find any of the side stories catch my interest to play more of that game. Only part i enjoyed was to play as cat. :D

Can't comment on most of those, but ^5 for being another person to mention Green Moon.

Believe it or not, I can tell you exactly why it does. It's because most, if not all of them, are troll reviews. And I know this for a fact because of one fateful night... (Okay not that dramatic, but story time!)
So my Green Moon review had like 10 people saying it was helpful, if even that many. For whatever reason, I went to check on my reviews, and I found it had suddenly jumped to about 40 out of 47 finding it helpful. Utterly baffled, I checked and saw that instead of there being only three reviews, all negative (as they were before this), several positive ones had been added, along with some remarks on mine.
I asked a friend about it, and he was curious too, so he did some digging. He found a livestream that this one guy was running. The guy evidently plays bad games and leaves good reviews for them. He tried playing Green Moon, gave up quickly, and then posted an over-the-top good review while encouraging his fans to do the same. He also showed my review on the stream, evidently saying, "Wait what? Someone BEAT this game?!"
So yeah. Lots of troll reviews, and of course they gave each other thumbs ups on their reviews/praised each other. It's a shame, because some people might look at the ratings, see it's a HOG, and not look any further. I hope they do, but it'd suck if people bought into their garbage and were expecting a good game.

Indeed. Some men just like to watch the world burn and all that, I suppose. =P

Why HP4, and the painkillers?
I tried HP4, but tbh back in the day I was lost between the endless collectibles and gave up after a while, so I'm intrested in your opinion.
About Painkiller - I don't have a single one of the series, but it looks extremely intresting but there are so many implementations, I don't know which one is the best - could you help out with it?
(The Emptiness is really bad - not unplayeably bad, just the game that makes you question yourself why are you even playing this)

Not only it was 30 FPS lock port which is almost unplayable because of that, it had zero settings to change, you also had to collect enough things (don't remember what they were, cards or something?) just to go to another level so at some point you had to grind in order to do that plus camera angles were horrible, the overall experience was tideous and annoying as hell. I loved first three HP games but this one was just a lot different and everything they changed was for the worse.
Those PK games I enumerated are really, really bad. Resurrection level design is just random textures put together, a lot of them don't even make sense, it's like a kid was playing around in a level editor and after an hour they just put it into the game. I can honestly recommend first Painkiller, Painkiller Battle out of Hell (get Black Edition, it's the original plus the add-on Battle out of Hell) and Hell & Damnation which is the newest one. Overdose was also good but worse than the ones I just mentioned and Redemption was like 4/10 if I recall which wasn't horrible but far from good.

Thanks for the info :)
About Harry Potters: back in the day I pirated the 3rd and 4th - I had the second one, and I even 100%ed it with every jelly bean and card! I really loved that game. The third one felt really similar, but far easier - and I even downloaded the 4th one TWICE only to uninstall it both times unfinished. I really loved the spells, and how you could make so many things to float around, but in the end I think it was the camera and the feel of impossible to collect everything (and getting lost all the time) that maybe made me abandon the game.

Thought I was buying Black Sails. Bought Black Shadows, instead. I will never see my 33 cents, again....

How long did it take you to beat? Average time for a first-time player is fifteen minutes or so, IIRC?

I didn't even give it the honor of installing it. The only reason I haven't deleted it from my library is because I don't want to accidentally buy it, again.

Nothing, I haven't even played it. It was just a joke. xD

I don't know about the state of the PC version but a friend played it on PS4 and claims he had plot-stopping bugs in every faction quest line but one.

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition is not bad but if you own the original game (even without the dlc) it is not worth buying unless you can get it in a bundle.

A lot of good games have been suggested already so I'll name a few older ones.
7th Legion: Tried this a month or two ago. Growing up I played several 1990s RTS games, like the original C&C, Warcraft, Outpost 2. 7th Legion has some of the worst pathfinding I've ever seen, and the game is extremely random by design.
Operation Body Count is the worst Wolfenstein 3D clones I've ever seen. OPC is just plain boring. Even The Fortress of Dr. Radiaki was better, if only because the first level featured ninjas and Fidel Castro clones.
The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle is one of the worst NES games ever. Just look at some Youtube footage. It's ugly, it's glitchy and has awful music.
Virtuoso was an extremely boring third person shooter for DOS and the 3DO. Nothing good about it whatsoever. The plot: You are a rock musician in the future and because you are bored you go into a virtual reality world to shoot things. And the gameplay is boring.
As a rule of thumb it's best to avoid RPG Maker games, or at least have low expectations for them. Apocalypse Hotel and 24 Hours 'til Rescue are two that are so buggy they are nearly impossible to play. Steel & Steam just has overall bad design and writing.
The absolute worst game, and one that I have undying contempt for? Forbes Corporate Warrior.

what game would you warn them about? Like, a game you should never pay for, even if it's on sale, or out of curiousity.
