Cheers to you on your cake day. There is a very nice three-part SciFi series by Jon Courteney Grimwood, the Arabesk Trilogy. You should check it out.

A somewhat obscure Sci fi novel you may not know about is Wasp by Eric Frank Russell. It was written in 1957 and is quite short but fun to read.

Flowers for Algernon was a great and thought provoking book.
I am slowly collecting all the warhammer 40k books. They are hit and miss though, but I love the lore behind 40k. I recommend the Eisenhorn Omnibus as a good place to start.

Ever read Percy Jackson & the Olympians? Was a fun series when I read it a time ago, there's also a second series that takes place after the first. The Kane Chronicles was also good. Hell, anything Rick Riordan writes is enjoyable.

Bear facts

  • 3 year old female bears are ready to mate. Pedobear much?

  • With a similarity to Spider-Man, we also have 'bear-senses'.

  • We have a species named Sun Bear. PRAISE THE SUN!

"Hyperion Cantos" by Dan Simmons. Especially the first two books.
Anything by Stanisław Lem. "The Star Diaries" or "Tales of Pirx the Pilot" are a great start.

Happy cakeday!

Fantasy novel lover hey?

Try the "Dragonlance" books. Amazing novels from various writers! Have read about a dozen of them and currently am waiting for the summer sales to get a couple more. It combines adventure and wars in lands that "look" like Skyrim.

Also, you can try "The Rigante Series" from David Gemmell. It is for a bit older readers than Dragonlance (+18) but they are equally good with them. Do not have wizards (i personally like it more that way) though.

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."

When someone asks for a fact I usually go with dolphin rape, just because :)
You can have a full article on why dolphins aren't oh so cute though

Alternatively, did you know that 95% of giraffe sex is homosexual (only 1% of that is between females)? That's a pretty interesting one too

Maybe I should find something other than animal's sex behaviour...
