Why did you join Steam?

Counter-Strike Condition Zero. Forced to use Steam. Nowadays, isn't too much of an issue thanks to the internet speed upgraded standards.

To play TF2 with friends ... and Spiral Knights (i love spiral knights .)

I joined when TF2 went free to play. I've been hooked ever since.

A great discount for Jade Empire.

Because they stopped using the old verification servers for halflife deathmatch and moved to steam, this was when everyone hated steam and saw it as the devils work. Amazing how things change.

I honestly don't remember was sept 13, 2007. Really have no clue why anymore, don't think i bought a game anytime around that time either.

You had to join Steam to keep playing Counter-Strike. I joined on the first Day and was victim of the biggest login qeue i ever witnessed sitting in front of my pc! awfull day tbh :D

To play css which i used an aimbot not knowing the consequences so i bought it again. Then orange box came around, the only games i had on steam for a long time.

To buy L4D2 for a friend. After that I logged in to get the free portal, and eventually started to get into Steam when I got Mass Effect 1/2 and Skyrim

At that time I actually thought to keep it just to play Portal and Portal 2, but not much time later.....the wild summer sales appeared!

First account: Got HL2 GOTY as a present.

Second: Was stupid enough to borrow the first one to my cousin because he wanted to try HL2. But he played CSS as well and got the account VAC-banned (lesson learned). After a few years I made another to redeem keys from CD-Action.
I actually played CSS with him later, when he got his own account and game. He had to make his server unprotected when I wanted to join.

Just felt like it...

I was basically lured in by Half-Life, Garry's Mod, Team Fortress 2, etc. However, after awhile, I took a 3 month hiatus. Then I heard of Portal, and I bought the PS3 copy of the second game which came with a code to play it on the PC. After that, I loved Steam.

No idea why I joined at first... probably to see what the fuss whas about.

First game on my account was added almost 2 years later, Dirt 3 from AMD promo. Then it took another 7 months before I actually started really using Steam when the first HiB Android bundle came out.

14 months later I have 1670 games & DLC on my account. You could say I've been suckered in real hard.
