Probably first watched anime were Doraemon and Fantazoo (eng. Ox Tales, jap. Gera Gera Booth Monogatari).
But my first love was Neon Genesis Evangelion, during teenhood.

It has to be Digimon for me, but it was on a TV when I was a kid so I watched it when I caught it streaming.
However, the first one I watched because I wanted to watch that specifically is Death Note. I haven't seen may anime, but from those that I have, nothing came close to Death Note.

Robotech/Macross.
Or one of the other Americanized productions from the same era where they'd edit and often splice multiple series into a single new one. (Saber Rider, Macron One and a bunch that I can't really remember anymore)
Fun fact: I did miss out on the original Voltron / Golion series when it first aired.

Technically----I think it'd have to be Speed Racer even though I've got no distinct memory of when.
Never really thought about it that way before since it would've been way before I would ever learn what anime and knew enough to make any distinction. I know that they showed it on Boomerang at least, but I imagine it was way earlier than that and it's either Speed Racer or maybe like Sailor Moon or something that would've been something dubbed and broadcast on American network TV to air at crazy late or super early hours.

Actual first one: Kimba the White Lion.
First one I can remember: Speed Racer.
First one I was old enough to recognize as an anime: Star Blazers
Akira came later and was very impressive. However, I didn't really get into anime until Spirited Away hit the big screen. As for my first actively-watched anime series, that was Avatar: The Last Airbender. (I don't buy into the "it's not truly anime" argument.)

Do you remember what your first anime you ever watched was?
I think, if I remember from my childhood, mine was either Battle of the Planets since it was on tv as I was a kid or the US dubbed Star Blazers. I know, I'm showing my age there, but who knew it was anime when you were a child?
