What is this for you, a Thumper of a deal or just some Lost Signals?
More and "Better". From choice the games are ''good games'' if u love the genere.

yes that goes for everything in the world but i used to be able to deal with what I didn't want - although I no longer buy bundles

There are so many humanitarian aid organizations atm begging for just a couple of bucks so they can help the countless people affected by war and natural disasters all around the world. A 100€ minimum fundraiser at this point in time feels a little uhhh outrageous to me ...

Does anybody know if this is tax deductible in USA?

Worked for a charity for years. If you are getting something for your donation, no. So you'd need deduct the costs of goods received
For instance, we had an annual gala. Tickets cost 99. Any ticket purchase over 99 could claim anything in excess of 99 per chair bought, but could not claim the 99 as a donation..
I'll add in too a charity will issue you a tax notice at donation OR end of year if you did donate something tax deductible.

"Organizations described in section 501(c)(3) are commonly referred to as charitable organizations. Organizations described in section 501(c)(3), other than testing for public safety organizations, are eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with Code section 170."

For everyone saying they don't advertise themselves as being a charity, I'd just like to point out that the IRS lists a 501c3 as being a charitable organization.

they are commonly referred to as charitable organizations but not always, sometimes non-profit is a more appropriate description
"The exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3) are charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering national or international amateur sports competition, and preventing cruelty to children or animals. The term charitable is used in its generally accepted legal sense and includes relief of the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged; advancement of religion; advancement of education or science; erecting or maintaining public buildings, monuments, or works; lessening the burdens of government; lessening neighborhood tensions; eliminating prejudice and discrimination; defending human and civil rights secured by law; and combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency."

I respect what they are doing and for 50€ I'd probably be all over their "bundle". But for 100€ that's not a balanced enough selection and spending another 50€ just for them to be "independent aka platform agnostic" feels pretty silly these days.

You would imagine them being on their own platform would actually lower their costs, as before with humble, a certain % went to humble/ign and a certain percent went to an actual charity. Not only that, people would be able to tip the scales towards a certain area(like charity) although not completely could still give more to an actual charity, not day of the devs at the time for instance. Now they take all the money, pay the devs and host their events. So they should be able to do it for much less.

not to complain more - but the video just shows a zoom type meeting with 5 people and the events include a digital one meaning online - correct? how much can they cost?
Comment has been collapsed.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not. It is just an expensive bundle to raise funds for a dev showcase.

Too much for me but good for them doing it for a good cause

They probably would make several times as many sales if they'd kept the price around the $50 mark.

TIER 1 - games only, less insane cost
TIER 2 - Games plus VIP and socks - I dont care what price I will not pay it anyway

I would maybe consider this once the Steam keys are available. "At a later date" could mean three years. I don't think it will be that long, of course, but I'd rather know that the keys are allocated. If the cause were feeding children, then I wouldn't mind waiting. But for this, while I think it's a good enough cause, won't keep kids from eating.

Our mission: to celebrate the creativity, diversity and magic of video games, give a voice to emerging or underrepresented talent, and to connect players with developers, and their games.
Does not seem to fit the 501(c)(3) guidelines IMHO.
