Let's say that you're right and Epic does have to stop giving away free games. It doesn't look like it's going to happen, but let's say it does. What do you get out of that, that you're so excited? Gaben's not going to give you a special prize because you've been "loyal", and never "cheated" on Steam for some other store. It's an online game store, not your waifu.

You're not, though. Their store's not going anywhere at this point, and odds are very good that if they /did/ need to do something to cut their losses, they'd stop giving out free games before they'd stop paying for those timed exclusives. So it's still a lose-lose.

The base game is F2P, to get the Epic Champions of Renown extras/DLC you have to login next week:

LOG IN NEXT WEEK: All players who log into Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms through the Epic Games Store between Thursday 4/29/2021 at 11AM Eastern and Thursday 5/6/2021 at 11AM Eastern will receive the Epic Champions of Renown!

Isn't it a little concerning to anyone else that Epic suddenly is giving away DLC "freebies" the same week Humble Bundle is announcing their next bundle as "epic", as if they're trying to soften the ground for the dickiest move ever?
