My most regretful purchase from Steam is buying "Trackmania United Forever Star Edition" for £19,99 when there's a free version of the game available.

What's your most regretful purchase and why?

Cave Story+. It happened to come with the Indie Bundle, but still, I sent money to a horrid publisher, for a game that's free.

Achievements are always nice to have, and the upscaling is alright, but the rest of the extra, 'features,' are easily modded into the original game. Did I mention the original is free, instead of $10? I wouldn't mind so much, except it was ported to death, with little incentive to change to any of the other versions.
EDIT: You know, these were based on assumptions, but after running the game, I found even more problems: No widescreen scaling, remastered audio is worse than the original remix, no settings for window control. This is a messy port, even worse considering its porting a PC port onto the PC. You have to be trying to mess up that bad.

Bloody Good Time

Looked neat like if Home Alone was an FPS. Unfortunately, it came off as Kevin is a psychotic child who wants wants to watch the world burn by making them live in a house he set with traps

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the single game that I regret buying. I don't even care about a refund, I just want it gone from my list. It's ruining it.

Team Fortress 2, yes.

Valve ruined it with stupid weapons and more ways for classes to venture away from their roles and have strongpoints where they shouldn't.
The game isn't fun to play serious anymore nor is it fun for fun! I can't play on a server without getting disturbed for people who wanted hats and items because i played tf2 for a fucklot of time.

And the fact that they made it F2P and only gave us a hat (THE ONE THING I DIDNT FUCKING WANT) makes it just as bad. R.I.P good tf2

You could play competitive where most of the new weapons are not allowed or just play vanilla tf2.

Defenders of Ardania.
So much promise, such a teribly bad game... I mean really, trying to innovate the Tower Defense genre sounds nice and all, but when it no longer matters where you even place the bloody towers, you are doing it wrong. Most casual F2P games on Facebook have more strategic depth.

Red Orchestra 2. Loved the first one, but i played the second maybe 1h before stopping. The fact that BF3 cames soon after didn't help me to play more on RO2.
