Do you have a backstory to your username?
Is there a reason you chose it?
What's the meaning?
Just plain random?

I like tea, and Darjeeling can be mild or strong, smooth or full bodied, depending on when and where it's harvested. It rolls off the tongue, and suits my sometimes mercurial nature.

Also, TIL that the very best darjeeling tea you can buy is graded by the name

SETTING: The early 90s, the countryside. Cable Internet is not yet available, nor even DSL. A young man struggles with dial-up Internet through the only known (by him) provider at the time; America Online. But it turns out, everything comes with a price. This service expected a username, one the likes of which the world (or at least the proprietors of America Online) had never seen! Struggling, he tried variations of his name but nothing worked.. until! The young man looked to his right at his stack of PC games, many of which were designed specifically for DOS, the operating system which fueled even the more-popular Windows at the time. Being a fan of these games, and fairly proficient at the command-line style OS, he considered himself a lover of DOS and thought he would give it a shot. Fingers trembling as he typed in the username... would it work? Was he just one of many lovers of DOS, like his friend HelloKitty77831? Lo and behold, success! Henceforth he would be known as the lover of DOS for many years until one heralding from the fine family of GreenChips would inquire about his story.

tl;dr, liked DOS at one point.

Mine's probably pretty obvious, but it's a combination of Super Meat Boy and the Binding of Isaac, two of my favorite games of all time.

As a kid, I was a huge Yu-Gi-Oh! fan (and still am, TBH, just don't keep up with some of the newfangled mechanics they have). My favorite monster is Celtic Guardian, and his card number in the Legend of Blue Eyes packs was 007. So my first real username (on GameFAQs) was Celtic Guardian 7. Ever since then, I've always used variations of it. Celtic Guardian 7 is my preferred name, but I use Celtic7Guardian when spaces aren't allowed or the name is taken. A couple of times I've had to resort to CelticGuardian7, and in places that ask for more of a nickname than a username, I usually go by Celtic. CG7 is what my online friends tend to call me.

In argentina "gil" is used to say dumb or stupid to someone... Otro user in spanish is "another user". So the nickname would it be "another user stupid" or something like that.

Was 2012, and I keep it with me for some reason... (No I am not dumb... Not that much.)

Panics + Ferd = Panicsferd.

I originally created this name for a character in a book series that I am currently working on with my best friend, I decided to then use this name since I liked the ring of it.

I guess the backstory of this name is I wanted a good/funny sounding name for someone that would panic alot (like those old crazed guys you see with the end is near signs) and then with it being based in the medieval times I then came up with the name Panicsferd - it had the word Panic (since the guy would panic alot) and then adding Ferd so it would sound like a name you would have in the medieval times.

I haven't started using this name till like two possibly three years ago - before I started using this name I used a different name which was the name of one of my original characters in Everquest, and WoW.

Jack (of later Beanstalk fame) traded the family cow for some "magic" beans. The name represents my dual dreams of having a magical adventure and of swindling livestock from naive children.

About 2-3 years back I wanted a new League account because I felt like I wasn't good enough to play with people my level when I was about lvl 20-something and because my usual nickname was taken by my first account, I had to come up with another one. So after (literally) 3-4 hours of searching for ideas, I thought about searching for color names. I chose this one because I liked the way it sounds, plus it's a shade of red and I really like red in general. I've been using this everywhere ever since, and I use other color shade names for my steam bots, or on other sites if Alizarine is not available.

When I was younger, i wanted a name that stood out. For some reason back then my name was firefox. I realised it was a browser name and many people pick it as their callsign. I hated putting numbers on my name so i decided to create something new.
Since i used to love shooting games and my favourite weapons are sniper rifles, I made this name and stuck to it ever since.
Also a plus is that not many people use this name, and if there is, my name would be XxdeadwatchxX

Douze is short for Douzéju which is a derivation of the french expression "Doux Jésus" (which traslates to "Sweet Jesus" in english). I love the combined sounds of the french pronunciation of the letters U, Z and J, so i came up with this username, which i use almost everywhere now.
Douze also happens to be "twelve" in french.

Friggin' Taser was my City of Heroes main character name: an electricity blaster. I had another name for him but I forgot to delete the character I was trying to reroll before I made him... so I had to come up with this name on the fly.

At the time I was playing the hooooorrible Austin Powers GBC games where it seemed every sentence Dr. Evil said revolved around "Frickin' Lasers." So since the character I was making shot electricity I went with Friggin' Taser.

It's kind of stuck after all these years and the nickname even outlived the MMO it started in.

It's my name with a "w" at the beginning. "Walister" looked weird so I added an extra "L". That was back in college and it stuck as a username ever since.

I feel like this thread lifts back the curtain of super heroes, I don't know if I was ever meant to know SG Heroes origins...

Orc dog - a creature occuring in Gothic I.

It's a dog reared by the orcs. Its combat technique is the same as wolves combat technique. It attacks in packs of about fifteen of them. But it's much stronger than a wolf. They live in the orc grounds. In next parts of Gothic series it is replaced with warg.

Originally it was the name of my mage in World of Warcraft, I named it Oshet because of the high burst damage mages do (or did back then) which makes you go OH SHIT! for a moment.

Its 2 parts, "iTz" and "1T4Y".
"iTz" is just its with "Z" instead the "S" because I think its cool lol.
"1T4Y" is like my name - "Itay" but I used numbers insted "I" and "A" and they looks like "I" and "A" but not the same, and again I think its cool lol.

4rc because Arc is taken. I have always been Arc. It is perfect for me.

Arc = french for bow
Arc = short for Arcane
(I always play mages/archers, in every game where I get to choose)
Arc = short electric discharge, as everyone that knows me says I have bright and original ideas. I am a problem solver.
Arc = short for Arctos, meaning Bear, because I look like one.
Arc = curve, as I rarely go straight to the point but tend to find a ... better way to get there

  • is not associated with "story arc" or American Red Cross, though I am a blood donor.
