Sounds like a terrible problem, let's hope this one victory will cause you to finish other things as well!
Lately my problem is that I don't even start things because I don't want to commit to finishing them! :D I've been trying to overcome this but it's just so darn difficult.

Grats on finishing Oxenfree!
I am horrible with games too :(
I want to finish them, I really do!
But real life gets in the way.....sick husband.......stress......
And I have a horrible attention span, I get distracted SO easily: oooohhhhhh new shiny game, must play that!
I am almost halfway through Murder Soul Suspect.....but I left it ages ago when I realised that I could no longer get a certain achievement because backtracking was impossible! Need to get back to that one, and start over it is good!
I recently got The Long Dark and Ori and the Blind Forest and am super exited about both of them and want to play and finish them!
But......I also want to play Dishonored, Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, The Witcher, Bioshock, George is still waiting for me and a little Elf and a Gnome need some help too...........Giana gets impatient if I leave her too long.......and.......
I am hopeless........
I have every intention to play all these lovely shiny games!
But having intentions ins't enough!
maye I need an intervention!?
Ohhhh.....they now have a game called Intervention! ROFL
Not sure if that was what I was looking for!

Haha D;
You fit in really well in Wonderland, Katty.
There are a lot of distractingly awesome looking games and adventures to be had (;

I was thinking about why I never finish games and I know that a lot of my single player games never really get finished (or it takes me forever) because I'm usually playing multiplayer/co-op games. It's kind of a bad habit I guess but what can I say, I love playing both sexually and non-sexually with others :3
It just makes games more fun at times, especially if you're playing with the right people!

Congratulations!! I am in the same boat as you - no clue why I'm such a flake about finishing games - well to be fair, sometimes I get stuck and have to wait until I visit with my son (and get him to get me past some area that I just can't beat) but then the thrill has worn off and I've moved on. This is kind of true with TV series too - sometimes it's just too long in between and I fall by the wayside.

Haha ~ that's super cute! Thanks for sharing momo:)
I agree with the TV series, having to wait for a week between episodes, and then months between seasons... it's just too much sometimes ;x. There's a show airing right now (I forgot the name) that I want to watch, but I'm going to bide my time and wait until at least one season is completed - I don't like waiting between episodes (;

Im hurting my head over the question 3, can't figure it out.

haha sometimes i do that too, even though i love the game... sometimes because i am not in the mood for this very specific games, sometimes because i want to play another , sometimes because i don't want to actually finish the game (i remembe rkingdom heart <here i was in front of last boss, but didn't killed it because i wanted to finish the game at 100 % (killing secret boss and upgrading my spaceship like crazy)... and in the end i still didn't finish it years later lol Thoufg i do finish some games (re cently brutal legend, battlefield 1 campaign, alien rage unlimited)
well, anyway, congratz :D

achievements may not be the best way to finish the game as there is a lot of them which force you to grind and that is killing fun of most games
I can't finish a lot of games because i"m kind of perfectionist. I'm often playing on one of the hardest levels available and it makes my playthrough longer and unfortunatyely I can't play as much as 10 years back :)
On the other hand playing on easier difficulty often makes game too easy and borring (unfortunately most nowadays games plays just by themselves)

Mhm >nods< I won't go out of my way to get them when it's too hard. They're fun to collect, though:)

That's so weird. I could understand with boring games or repetitive games. But games with a great story or really fun gameplay I can't even imagine, usually I can't wait to finish those. Perhaps you can start with small games that can be finished in a few hours :)

That's the plan for now:)
Oxenfree was really short and sweet!

Congratulations! I gifted Oxenfree to myself for Halloween and played at appropriate time. I spent ~4 hours in a row, then suddenly it got late and I decided to go to sleep. Sadly I didn't really return to game since then, so I know the feeling :( I loved the game though, it's amazing and characters feel really alive (much more alive and believable for me than, for example, in The Walking Dead). I will definitely finish this game (maybe even today) and later will go for additional walkthroughs to see how my decisions influence the events. For now, Merry Christmas :)

Congrats on your game completion ^^, There's something satisfying about finishing a game, but I'm more like you. Its a rarity for me to complete one.

I am trying to go for full completion (achievements as well) of a game, but now despite clearing all story chapters to 100%, I still don't get it. It's the universe telling me not to bother finishing games :p.

Yesterday was a historic evening for me. I completed the game Oxenfree, which was the first game I've actually played to the end since Skyrim on the Ps3, like 5 years ago.
I've always had the habit of playing games and stopping midway to try another game... Tomb Raider, Witcher 2, Victor Vran, Pokemon X... are all games I've enjoyed but randomly ditched. Even Tales of Symphonia, one of my very favorite RPGs, I stopped right before the final boss (;.
And when I think about it, it's not only games that I don't complete. Hobbies such as singing, playing the piano, the guitar, nail art ( I mean nail polish not hammering nails to a canvas:^) ), are all skills I've picked up partly and then moved on from. What's my problem? D:
This also includes TV shows I really enjoyed, such as Gotham, Revolution, and House MD, that I randomly stopped for no reason. I'm mostly okay with books - those I usually finish, thank God (;.
Anyway, last week, I was thinking about it, and I decided to push myself to finish games that I enjoy! Perhaps start collecting achievements and perfect games sometimes too. Yesterday, I was going to try some random game, but I lit up a candle, made some tea, and forced myself to finish Oxenfree. It was awesome! The game is great ,and witnessing the ending of a game is an amazing thing!
So yeah. Watch me, because I'm on FIRE now!
Oh, and I may have a couple of games for you guys:)
Good luck!
