Had to because I bought New Vegas. Due to not having high-speed internet and a 300mb patch, I was forced to sit on it for three years.

Alien Swarm game. Played it since release. But my first buy been year later - after my friend gaved me key from humble bundle (when they were $0.01), and I tryed how it works to have game library not on CD/DVDs. Raised my Seam library to 500 games in next year.

I moved to Japan and physical copies are expensive here, but pretty cheap on Steam.
Also built a new computer that was capable of playing decent games.

Only reason I joined steam was because they finally killed off the WON network for a game I really liked and that pretty much forced me onto steam.

Dealing with different consoles and all the physical games was annoying and taking up too much space. Consolidating everything on PC (sadly at the expense of some console exclusive titles) just made sense.

Picked up Metro 2033 in the bargain bin in a local shop, had to activate it on steam. Started expanding my games library probably when the GTA complete pack was only 10 euro last summer. Been checking out the sales regularly. Sinde Humble THQ Bundle also checking out a lot of bundles. So got me a little library now, but don't really have the computer to play a lot of them (when I have time for it).

Find it rather funny considering there is an over abundance of Metro 2033 keys now.

To get to play Audiosurf, bought it full price back when Steam was in USD for my country and the dollar was super cheap (nearly 2x less than it's now) :-).
