What was your first anime?

Speed Racer (Aka Mach A Go-go). Although at the time I didn't know it was anime, or what it was for several years. Speed Racer first aired in English on MTV back in the 90's and as a kid I just thought it was a cartoon.
My first anime that I knew was an anime was Dragonball Z. Even bought bootleg vhs tapes of hard subs from a specialty shop in a mall I lived near. No way was it legal for them to sell but they didn't seem to care... My first fully subbed anime though was Love Hina which was sent to me over Aol Instant Messenger by a friend. xD

Bleach. I saw this anime in TV, so I found it in internet and start watching. :) best long anime ever.

I think it was Death note, but I did watch some Pokemon as a kid though. but didn't really know what anime was
and my first manga was Hitman reborn, which I didn't like and dropped then moved on to Naruto

The first anime that I realized was anime was Hikaru no Go. Technically though probably pokemon or something similar.

Spirited Away. With Russian dub, on VHS. I still have this tape.

If counts, then likely pokemon.
If we ignore pokemon duel masters and the other saturday morning stuffs, then likely Spiral: The Bonds of Reasoning, Ghost Stories or Yu-Yu Hakusho (definitely Yu-Yu Hakusho, if full series count only). We had an anime channel from 8 or 9 in the evening only, and they didN't even have a proper schedule in the newspapers, so I kinda watched what I got. Sill seen these, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist (never fully), Trigun (never fully :D ) and Full Metal Panic + FMP Fumoffu. But really, main thing was Yu-YU Hakusho that I watched religiously, I lacked sleep for like half a year while watching it every day and sleeping only 6ish hours :D

Deathnote and then Full Metal Alchemist

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood was my first and I rewatched FMA recently. Definetely one of the best.
