I have GTA V in my wishlist on steam, so yeah, I'm interested in this game, but I still refuse to craeate an Epic account. I don't hate Epic, or something like that, I just don't want to have another probably useless account. I have enough game on steam, and when a big discount arrive, I shall buy it there.

To be honest, i value more games I have to pay for, than for games I got for free. Even if it's just a few bucks. I understand the hype, the gesture, ect ect, I'm just not interested in it at all.

Even if you get the game on Steam, you will need to download the Rockstar Launcher and make an account there, the same as when you get it on Epic. So you are getting another "useless" account regardless.

Yeah I know that... Maybe I shall skip the game in the end. I have played Vice City and San Andreas for a few hours, but I did not enjoy them much so probably gta is not my franchise.

I'd consider San Andreas the best, so if that didn't pull you in, play games you will actually enjoy. :)

I was initially thinking that way but since they started giving away free games, I have played and finished many of them and use it regurarly. It's not like other launchers that have given mediocre games.

I have hundreds of accounts registered in my password manager, you don't even need to give your real name on Epic. You must be having a hard life refusing to complete simple forms. I don't get it, is it some kind of phobia ?

Well having installed GTA V and played about an hour, I'm glad I never spent a cent on it. I knew the series was vulgar and crass from what I'd read online, but thought it might be fun to play through the storyline to the part where I can just enjoy the open world, but no, everything about this world is just made to be an ugly cesspool reflecting the worst of humanity. I have played the saints row games and really enjoyed those, and I can't quite place my finger on what makes them different.. I think it might be that despite the fact the world is still quite crass, the characters are sincere enough that you actually end up liking them and rooting for them. But I see very little of merit character wise in these three protagonists of this game and the general seediness of the world gives me zero motivation to keep spending time in it. It makes me a bit sad that this is a flagship game for the gaming world. I play games for a bit of escapism and fun, but drudging through the hour that I played did not lift my spirits the way other games do.
But thank you Epic for giving me the opportunity to speak from first hand experience when I say that the GTA games are not for me.

Different folks, different strokes, I guess. I for one didn't like GTA IV but loved Liberty City & I can say without a doubt that GTA V is among the best written games I've ever played (Witcher 3 being at a distant 1st). I didn't care for the online mode tho...

Yeah I agree. Just like I don't expect many people would like half the games I enjoy. But the last GTA game I tried to play was san andreas when it came out and I concluded then that GTA wasn't my scene. I always wondered if now that I'm older if GTA would click better with me. But I didn't want to pay to test the theory. Glad I didn't as it turns out.

I feel you. GTA V is too over the top and has gotten way too vulgar that its just bad taste and only helps to desensitize more kids.
GTA IV was the was probably the only game they made with a main character that didn't spew nonsense. Saints row just doesn't bother with any of that so doesn't make you flinch as much.
Lamar swears so bad that when I try to play online missions I unconsciously mute him in my head. I could barely stand to play the first single player mission for almost a year, would just quit every time halfway through the foul speech.

Yeah, I mean I play plenty of games with lots of swearing, but even the pedestrians in this game just throw it at you all the time. Everyone in the game just sounds so angry all the time, and it's hard to relax or enjoy your time in the world playing with characters like this. They are just terrible people.

For me it's the gang culture that bugs ,just don't like it.
Though GTA5 is not all like that.

I think that is probably the root of my issue as well, the whole 'criminal gang' aspect. I don't mind an antihero character, but give me a noble cause for my mission at least. Playing as criminals who enjoy being criminals and don't really want to grow into better characters does not feel very satisfying or relatable for me.
