Epic is absolute garbage. Been trying to get this for about 20 minutes, constant errors and logging back again. Just like everyone else.
HOWEVER, I got a truly baffling side effect... I finally managed to get to the GTA V page and add it to my library, it makes me sign back in, gives me an error and CHANGES THE LANGUAGE ON MY CLIENT FROM ENGLISH TO SPANISH. All without actually giving me the game. I don't even know, Epic.

Just curious, does GTAV need the Epic client to be open to play it? I'm sure it uses Rockstar launcher anyway. And I don't like the Epic client at all (it's actually buggy and causes problems on my pc, unlike any other client I've ever used. Reinstall of Epic doesn't fix it).
So if you can play without Epic open by using just the Rockstar launcher, that would be like a dream.

Use a VPN/Proxy that is not free like Express VPN or ask a friend from another country to do that for you or just turn off ur VPN/Proxy.

I have it enabled but i only had to use it today because i accidentally cleared my cookies so had to login again.

There's been a few odd warnings like that today mentioned on reddit.
Probably all down to the server overload .
They're probably getting hammered by people with multiple vpns and also multiple accounts with the same ip.
I'd imagine it's causing havoc with their security setup though i am wondering just how much security they actually have :)

This may impact users who own & use multiple Epic Games accounts.
I think at some point user will be required to proof that he didn't use multiple accounts or it's his original (not bought) account. But not sure how they will detect it - same/changed IP ?!

Guys reported same issue. Look like Epic checking IP addresses.
I found the solution. My friend bought the game using the same wifi with me, so seems like launcher is using the same ip so basically u need to reset the modem router, or more simple solution connect with your phone internet and get the game.

Am I missing something here? I'm installing GTA 5 and checked why it is taking longer than usual. Upon checking, I've downloaded 27gb after over an hr. Then wondered why it is only 24% completed and I saw it, it is 27gb of 187gb. My steam FF15 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey are only over 100gb.

i do not acess to my gmail in any device nor its password was not able to recover it with phone number i mean i did it right but that was not enough sinCe i didnt make two-step verifications and email recovery its impossible now .. however i`m happy today cause my psu had short circuit and buildings electricity went off .. other than psu all parts are safe ... hope epic helps me since iVe contacted them but still no answer

This is the first big game I've tried to install, earlier I'd got as far as about 73% downloaded (some today and some yesterday), then I reopened the launcher an hour ago and clicked resume...
...aaaaand it starts downloading again from the beginning! 🤦♂️

Resuming works fine for me. Notice that the total download shown in the UI is the download for your current session. For example, if the game is 96 GB, you download 12 GB and close the launcher, the next time you run it it'll say the total download is 84 GB and the download will start counting from 0, but you haven't lost those 12 GB you previously downloaded.

I lost "only" some 10 GB. of download.. only thing that those 10 GB took me almost a day to download :D
With the capped bandwidth It's downloading slowly as hell, but if I press pause it seems to resume the next day. After those 10 GB I turned off my computer without pausing. Maybe thats one of the triggers that terminates the download..

yes, just download it thru Epic and start it there, then "buy" all that is in Premium
Now you can start it thru Steam, but you do not have Premium, but you will have all items, that you "bought" for free.

sharkcards jsem nikdy nekupoval, ale budeš mít proště 2 licence na GTA, jednu standardní ze Steamu a druhou premium z Epicu. Obojí máš přes jeden Rockstar účet, kde máš postavu. Pak bude jen na tobě odkud hru spustíš a zda bude premium nebo standardní edice.
Podle mne bude jedno, kde budeš kupovat shark cards, ale jak jsem psal, nikdy jsem to nekupoval a ani neplánuju kupovat :-)
A jinak Rockstars tvrdí, že můžeš kupovat i přes jejich launcher tyto herní peníze a je jedno, že to vlastníš na Steamu nebo Epicu.

One more question, dude. I've unlocked all content from premium edition. If I login from the Steam version I can't get for free, for example, the vehicles on different colours. All these things, I have to do it on the Epic version.
What do you recommend me? To play the normal Steam version with all content unlocked, or unninstall it and play with the Epic one?
There's is any way that I can loss any weapon while playing online?

Just buy all content on Epic version and then you can continue on Steam.
When you buy all, then there is no need to go to Epic version again.
btw I prefer Steam edition, because my gamepad is working here (on Epic my gamepad is not working)

Downloaded and launched through epic, the Rockstar launcher came up and had me link the two accounts. After running and closing the game, the Rockstar launcher went back to giving me the option to buy the game direct from them, instead of showing it as owned.

You must run the game from the Epic Launcher. The games is not really added to your Rockstar account so it won't appear in the Rockstar Launcher as owned.

Highly doubt that will work, since the epic version brings with it epic specific files of Rockstar social club and such.
As has been responded to me earlier, it won't even run straight from the Rockstar launcher. It has to be started from the epic launcher...

Use this path: "Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V" and it works fine. Did it today after activating the premium content from Epic. Problem now is that I cant go into Online on steam because they have limited server problem on PC.

Well tried that and it still decided to download since i cant rename folder of GTAV in Epic Laucher.
Needed to do this in order to make Epic Laucher to verify files instead of downloading.
Need to check if i still can play game throught steam tho.

So after all that i can start game only throught Epic Laucher. Steam says that i need an update in size of full game.
Its all because of names of folders. Idk why but Epic version of GTA uses folder named GTAV while Steam version uses Grand Theft Auto V. And i cant locate game in Steam. I can rename folder and Steam easily locates game.
Maybe somebody have an idea? I need both steam and Epic version on PC. Maybe somebody know any tricks in Steam to locate a game? Because i highly doubt that it can be done in Epic Laucher.

I thought you didnt care about Epic and just wanted to move the files to steam. That worked for me anyway when moving and renaming the game and then install it so it verified the existing files. Dont know anyway to make it work both ways.
