???
that's nothing new you're saying here. Italy didn't win against France in the 2006 World Cup Finals, and yet they won the tournament. and that's a fact. what's your point? no matter how you turn it, Italy is out, get over it buddy, life goes on...

lol nitpicking at it's best.
You have to admit though that Germany knocked Italy out of a tournament for the first time. That's all what matters in the end.

My best friend from childhood days, Marcello, half German & half Italian, clearly said Germany won :P
But I got your point... Penalty schoot-outs always have such a lucky-draw taste.
In this case however, I at least feel like Germany has won, not because of the shoot-out but the handplay-penalty in the regular time.
That has nothing to do with G vs I, since forever exactly that penalty makes me mad >;)

Iceland will win the final anyway...so what's all the fuss about?

@Mike90 Sorry for your Italian Folk but as you know only the Results Decides and you can try to explain it in 1 million ways but Italy failed.
On the other Hand all we saw how the German Team Dominated the Italians , at this point i was scared because your Team was so bad playin'.And Finally i wouldn't say so quick that the German Team will win this Tournament , there are still good Team in like Wales , Portugal , France or even Iceland. ( wait... Wales and Portugal are yet better than Italy cuz they are already in the Semi-Final LOL )

Although I was supporting Italy, I was actually expecting Germany to win the Euro, so let's just say that I was supporting Italy and knew it would lose. :/ I'm Greek, by the way. :P

I actually saw some guys in the italian fan-spaces (at the penalty shoot-outs) waving a greek flag. I was confused for some seconds :D

Oh, shut the fuck up... Did you even watch the match? Germany was the better team with the better play on the court. It only ended 1-1 because one of the krauts screwed up and gave you defense obsessed morons a free penalty, through a HANDS. If at least it was a last defender foul, I could have said "yeah, it was either that penalty or the sequence was a goal" But this way, it was just fucking dumb luck. Italy didn't have one fucking decent attack the entire game. Without that penalty, the match could have been played for 24 hours and Italy still wouldn't have scored the equalizing goal. You can't keep your head in the box and just wait for a counter-attack opportunity and then hope to win the match. Might have worked with Spain, but sooner or later, football punishes you if you try to cheat it.

May I ask you a question , may you be the honorable Captain Obvious ??

really? you had to look for a rule? you didn't know that the match score is a draw after quite a lot draws with penalties in the Euro already?

So, the UEFA Euro 2016's quarter final between Italy and Germany was won by Germany... or was it?
Sorry German folks, you might be the ones who advanced to the semi-finals, but you DIDN'T win.
No, this isn't the delusionary vision of a pissed Italian, it's all written in the rules:
http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/afdeveloping/refereeing/law_14_the_penalty_kick_en_47369.pdf
On page 17, it says:
What that means, is that the penalties shot after the extra time are just a tie-breaker to decide who will advance to the next stage of a knock-out tournament, but the match will be considered a draw for statistical purposes.
Sorry for breaking the mood, but at least we can say that both teams won:
You can at least let us have that little satisfaction, right?
No hidden giveaways, I'll just eagerly await for responses from Germans and Italians (please write in English).
Please don't shoot the messenger, I'm just shedding light over the truth...
