Humble Choice $6 a month for 6 months

Well, I've never subscribed to Humble before, but they got me with this deal. It is simply too good to pass up even if I am not at all interested in the December selection. I've seen lots of speculation about why Humble is offering this deal now (the conclusion seeming to be that the next few months are going to be bad bundles) but my optimistic side is hoping that they simply lost too many subscribers because of the pandemic and it has nothing to do with the quality of upcoming bundles :)

Of course, I don't buy a lot of bundles, so even "bad" bundles might be good for me so long as the bundle is only deemed subpar because it contains too many repeats.

Honestly more and more they seem more desperate to me to get people on-board with humble bundle choice. They should've just stuck with classic and upped the price or something.

Well this pretty much confirms new humble choices are gonna be sh*t.

Thank you for the heads up. I got the e-mail but didn't even open it. Half price Classic plan is too good to pass. Was paused but unpaused to lock that in.

If anyone else was in a similar situation to me and is having trouble getting the deal then click the link in your e-mail but ignore the page it takes you to. It will tell you you can't change an active plan but the coupon has already been applied. Go to unlock your choices and it should tell you before you pay that it has applied the discount and you'll see the $6 price.

Can I sub, but skip this month?

As a new subscriber can I cancel after 6months to avoid full price?

Or they could give more popular games and people would just pay full price.

They gave me all the December games.

Does everybody get charged tax now? In Canada, I see $7.65/month for the membership and then at checkout it's $8.64 because they add tax on top. I wasn't sure if every territory is charged now and/or if there's a simple way to avoid paying in local currency (I used to be able to pay in USD and preferred it since I also have USD banking).

I never even got any email, but I asked support about it and they added the coupon to my account :)
btw I'm on classic month-to-month.

i wonder what happens if you dont have enough money in your credit card, when the day comes for they to charge you for the next month?

i got one question: does this have any minimum period to be there, like 1 year or something? can we give up after the 6 months?

Has anyone been able to make use of this deal who also took advantage of the $99 for 12 months deal?

I'm a Classic subscriber and I didn't received the coupon. I only can see the banner. There's any way to get it without receiving the email? That's a great deal to me. I would like to buy the 12 months for $99 but the price is too high on a single payment on my country and this deal would be a better alternative now.

as someone who is considering this but very busy til next month, do i have to claim games within the month or can i do it later?

Ok, i have read a lot of stuff in this thread and i still don't really know what's happening if i choose this.

My situation is the following : classic member month to month, i paused at the beginning of december a few days after reveal, then i got the coupon "$6 USD a month to subscribe to Humble Classic for 6 months Valid until Jan 1, 2021, 9:59:59 AM". This looks good, but...

Question 1 : If i take this, i will have 6 months at 6$ and no pause allowed, then back to 12$ a month and pause allowed right ? No cancellation of my classic plan ?

If i click now on the coupon, it tells me "Your subscription is paused. Activate your subscription to unlock the full benefits of Humble Choice".

If i try to unpause, i get "Unpause Subscription Unpause your membership to choose great games to keep forever.". So i didn't do it before being sure.

Question 2 : if i unpause, does it automatically charge me for this current month, or am i just in not-paused mode and i can choose myself ?

In the HB FAQ, i see : "NOTE: If you paused and successfully skipped the current month of Humble Choice (skipped auto payment day being the last Friday of the month), but change your mind you should then try to manually purchase the current month of Humble Choice through the checkout page! Please do this before that month has ended. We will attempt to automatically charge your payment method if you unpause prior to the content drop (even after the auto-payment date has passed), but to avoid any potential issues we do suggest manually purchasing the current month!"

So i'm not sure...

Question 3 : if i get the offer, does it say somewhere that 6 month from now (or 5 if it automatically takes this month) i'll go back to 12$ a month ?

I have a couple of questions that I hope somebody can help me out with:

I've only ever bought Humble Monthly for a single month at a time back before it was called Humble Choice. I did that like two times. So how does this work now?

From what I understand, I will be paying ~5€ a month for the next six months, unless I cancel, which would bring me back to regular price for subsequent months. Is that right? And what do I get from this? It says that you can pick 9 games. So does it show all available games each month and then I can choose to either redeem 9 of them or to cancel my subscription?

Bastards though, if you got this months bundle you're not eligible which is rather annoying, I wasn't going to get this month but my friend had a gift code for this one and gave it to me. On the positive side if it helps anyone else I contacted support and complained about this situation and have been given a custom coupon that will make Januarys bundle cost $6 and the 5 after that as long as I don't cancel cost the same, so basically they gave me the deal anyway after I complained a decent amount. I sincerely hope others like me complain and get this sorted so people that haven't been pausing for months or have cancelled aren't the only ones getting deals.
