Before I googled that movie I was wondering if Chow Yun-fat is in it. And of course he is. :D Welcome to my WL.

Oppenheimer was a really impressive movie.
The long time wasn't boring.

Exactly. Even the second time I've watched it at the cinema (where I expected it to be a bit more boring due to me already knowing everything that was gonna happen) it was still very good and not boring at all. Welcome to my WL.

That sounds amazing, how have I not heard about it before? Welcome to my WL.

Nice, that's the movie I'm gonna watch today. Welcome to my WL.

Zoolander (2001) a streamer was watching it and I was watching the streamer. Never seen it before - Despite these kinds of parodies being pretty much the only movies that would show on TV along with Jacky Chan movies in my country. Probably because the dudes would be deemed too effeminate at the time. It was whatever. Interesting to see where the memes came from...

The sequel is surprisingly also a lot of fun. Welcome to my WL.

Most of the movies I watch are first watches, but sometimes rewatching something can be rewarding as well. Welcome to my WL.

27 Bond films.
007 for (almost) a month.
The last one was "The World Is Not Enough".

That was me in January 2022. Hadn't seen a Bond movie before that, so I decided to watch them all. But in order. Why did you finish with The World Is Not Enough (1999)? Welcome to my WL.

Sorry, I messed up.
The last movie that I saw was "The World Is Not Enough".

I guess I could give it a second chance, not really sure why I found that particular film to be so hard to sit through, it might just be that I was watching all of the Wes Anderson movies one after the other only a few days apart between each and I was just tired of his style by that point.

No need to add me to your WL, I hardly enter any giveaways anymore, so let someone else have my spot
I watched the Super Mario Bros. movie and it was not all that great. I know, it's a kid's movie, but the potential was there for something that would be enjoyable, but it felt like the movie constantly had to draw attention to every little reference to a piece of Mario media it made. It was cute when they used the old Super Mario Bros Super Show intro song in the commercial, but then the references just kept happening and they could not just let them be, they had to add a small audio cue to it or had to linger a bit longer on it with the camera just to make sure that you would catch it. It ended up being really distracting.
Good animations though, the movie looked very nice, and Jack Black was the right actor for Bowser. But overall a pretty middling movie.

I feel like for the target audience it was a good movie. I don't know if there's an upper limit for someone's WL, so I still put you on it.

If it's on Netflix, I probably already put it on my watchlist. And now you're on my whitelist.

You're right, I haven't heard of it. Not that deep into Iranian cinema yet, but I'll definitely put this one on my watchlist. Welcome to my WL.

Had to think for a moment, but I'm pretty sure the last one I watched was Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3 a few days ago. It's definitely the best MCU movie in years, the whole series (I don't count Spideman movies as MCU) was going downhill so it's nice to know that they actually can still do good ones.

Such a great movie of my childhood! Welcome to my WL.

While the sequels weren't really following the originals amazing setting, I thought they were pretty good in their own right (especially the first one). They were more of comedyflicks than the oh-my-god-this-is-magical-and-amazing-flick that the first one was (can you tell I don't know what to even call such a genre? LOL!), but they managed a pretty good balance act I thought.
One thing we then to forget when we judge these things is that we've grown up, we are more mature (well, some of us at least.....), and we don't get amazed as easily anymore, so we judge harsher. So when I judge a sequel like this I don't only judge from my standards today, I ask myself: Would 24YO me have liked this one? F*** yes, he woulda!
It's only if I really don't like a film [for reasons] that I don't include my moronic younger self in the judging, he has no say then.
And that's not hypocritical at all, do you have any idea how stupid that guy was? He gets no say unless we already agree.
LOL, yes I'm full of shit, I know....

Yeah, but if you're a kid you'd probably love it. Welcome to my WL.

Yes and no. The CGI and the costumes all felt good, you really feel it's all real, very well done. The atmosphere because of that makes you feel properly confined to a ship at sea. The "monster" was also really well made, and felt rather nasty at times.
Some of the acting however fell short, and sadly mostly from the two main characters Anna and Clemens. And no, I'm not disappointed because he's black and she's a woman, it's just the background and dynamic of those two roles didn't fell as "authentic" as some of the other actors roles.
While the people are dirty ragtag sailors, that have the harshness of life (mostly) written in their grubby faces these two felt and looked (besides wardrobe) more like richer people, fair skin and finer limbs. Didn't really fit their backgrounds, the lives they claim to have led.
And the dynamic of a stowaway on a ship immediately becoming the main source of information while simultaneously heavily distrusted felt off.
Then as I am a merchant navy man myself, I felt the ships care was left completely out, all they seemed to care about was having a man at the rudder and someone making food, and it's so much more than that - however I am aware this is a personal gripe coming from personal work experience, and as such will most likely not even register to anyone else.
Overall a decent flick, but it could have been so much better with some different directing. Well worth seeing though.
