When joining I also like short giveaways. But when I create them I tend to make them longer to give people a chance to join. And then I can't wait for them to end ;). This time I might have overdone it a bit. 5 days seems a bit long, 2 or 3 probably would have been enough. (I'm always a bit torn between giving lots of people a chance and giving few people a good chance.) I hope I will get better at using the right length with experience.

It also depends on the game you are giving away. Some of my giveaways would have been pretty empty after 1 hour, my puzzle is online for nearly 5 hours by now and has 31 entries.

That's true. Bundle games will have significantly lower demand. Though once you throw in a puzzle there's a lot more variables involved - the giveaway game, the puzzle difficulty, etc. Could make it a completely different story.
I don't do most of them because some of them require more time commitment. And some people work on weekends so there's so many things involved.
I'm not sure what I'm saying anymore. Long story short, can't make it fair for everyone. Just do it and see what happens I guess.

True that. I tend to spend too much time on puzzles, some of them are good though, or hard, or both. From time to time I even solve puzzles when I know I own the game that is being given away. (and then again I sometimes skip good puzzles cause I feel it takes too much time / I'm too clueless). So I also sometimes create puzzles for my giveaways and hope people are enjoying them.

There's always a risk of people sharing answers amongst their friends too. Not necessarily a large scale leak, but I'm still against it. There isn't any way to enforce any special rules that you may have too. Also, if too many people solve at the same time, I would get suspicious, even if they're all legitimate. Sooo I guess I shall steer clear of the puzzles. :)

The Train is nearing departure time.
As I place some fuel into its fire and make sure all the bits are in place so we don't fall off the tracks.
