I bought tf2 retail, than I created my steam account.

APB: Reloaded, before I came to appreciate just how invasive its anticheat (Punkbuster) is and promptly uninstalled it.

portal i'd say! i kind of played the first on let's call it "borrowed" terms and decided it was worth getting! also it was on sale with the sequel! so who am i to say no to the first sale i experienced!

i registers my steam account when Half-Life 2: Deathmatch was free with nVidia promo. but i started to use it often when i buy left 4 dead 2 in 2010. since that im using it

They gave away Portal 1 for free, and also for Dota 2 but i've barely played it.

To redeem keys from humble bundle (hated to see them going to waste).

Half Life 2, when it came out. I didn't like Steam much at first, so I didn't pay much attention to it.

Then came back on 2009 because Steam sales. It had become less of a nuisance. Much less.

To buy borderlands at discounted price and play with my friends.

Originally it was for TF2 but now it's for GTA IV, DiRT, and the Assassin's Creed games. xD

Free Half-life 2 Deathmatch and Lost Coast to my graphic card. Many years ago....

Fucking thiefs stole my ps3 and then that week the WB bundle came out. A good friend gave me like a present some games

I first used my Steam account to redeem a free Portal Steam sale.
Then to play Alien Swarm (free).

It was Borderlands 2. Before then I just thought steam was a waste of time and would take very long to download games etc. After 6 months of being a user, I love it. So much better than Origin which I used prior to using steam. Now I game with my friends and have become a lot closer to them through it. It's a been a positive part of my life, especially when during the time it came I was in a low in life :)
